I actually tested again this morning because I had really sore breasts last night.

The test didn't seem positive at first, but there was a very faint, blurry line that I couldn't get on the photo. Now, the test from yesterday was still in the bathroom, so I wanted to quickly check if I saw a similar line on that one too, so I'd know it was nothing. But now it's turned into a thick line. I'm assuming it's an evaporation line, but have you guys had this happen too?

Do you have a picture of the test?
And I've also had a test like the one you had where it turned positive after the time, but it never developed into a pregnancy. Unfortunately But miracles still happen, I'm curious about your test.

This is it. It's just a drying line, silly of me to hold on to every straw...
  4. Dreamcatcher90 #24

It’s actually quite pink for a faint line.
It could be that your hCG levels are low, which is why it takes a bit longer for the test to pick it up.
They say you really shouldn’t look after the reading time, but I think if there’s really nothing there, nothing will happen anyway.

Action unfortunately does have drying stripes...

I fear so too. So far, I've had an evaporation line on every test .
Even the one from Kruidvat. It's driving me crazy. And still no period.
  7. Dreamcatcher90 #27

Could it be that you had a late implantation? And that's why your due date is shifted? So you're actually very early pregnant?
  8. Ab91 #28

The tests from Action always show me a faint line, and even before you use the test, you can see a kind of marking where the line should appear. That can cause a lot of confusion.
    I'm rooting for you!

No idea about that implantation. Last Sunday I had extreme lower abdominal pain and thought I was getting my period, so there was fluid loss too—maybe that was actually my ovulation and my cycle is messed up...
I'll just give up hope since I've read that Action often gives false positives
  10. *Lotus* #30

As mentioned several times above, it’s most likely an evaporation line.
Hopefully, there will be clarity soon. I hope you’ll have a good pregnancy with a clear line you can’t miss

Oh, it's not a pregnancy for me anymore, that's the point
My son came into the world via ICSI, and I don't want to go through that twice. It's frustrating to have a positive test in your hand, thinking you're pregnant, and then in the end, you're not. This is going to hurt for a while.
Anyway, thank you all for taking the time to look into it with me.
I wish you all lots of success with your pregnancies and being moms

    Nothing is impossible, Mel.
They also told me that I would never get pregnant spontaneously.
I had my oldest son through IVF treatment and 9 years later became pregnant spontaneously (now 21 weeks pregnant).

Oh, that's sweet of you to share your experience with me, and big congratulations! It must be so special!
I'm going to go for contraception after this, I don't want to go through this every month
    X
  14. *Lotus* #34

Oh, I thought you wanted to get pregnant, sorry. But then contraception is something that can mess with your body even more, but that's everyone's own choice, of course..
  15. MEL started this #35

    No problem at all!
We were told that without fertility treatment, we’d never have had a baby together. That’s why I don’t use contraception either. Another baby would be welcome, of course, but we didn’t have much hope for a spontaneous pregnancy, and I’m not really keen on going through the whole medical route right now.
So when I took that first test and saw a line, I was all excited and assumed I was pregnant—turns out I wasn’t. If the test hadn’t been positive, I’d never have gotten so emotional. But I don’t want to spend the next few years always hoping it’ll work out someday either...

No, I get it, Mel, but as a young mother, it's a sad announcement, and it should really just be an option. I hope you find peace with it, and it's totally normal to shed a tear or two. Lots of strength, dear Mel, it's no small thing.

Your period is still missing. Then test again with a Kruidvat test, 2 for 5 euros.
For example, at the end of this week...
  18. Lady #38

Try the Kruidvat tests for 2 for 5 euros. They're very sensitive and I haven't read or heard that they show an evaporation line. By the way, I've never had an evaporation line with the Action tests either.

    Thanks everyone!
Still no period. I'm almost a week late by now, so I should have clearer tests by now, right
Both Kruidvat and Action apparently gave me evaporation lines. See the attached photo for the latest.
I'm having cramps now, so they're probably on their way. I'll be 'happy' then I can move on
  20. Orchidea #40

Everyone produces hCG in their own way. It’s not even weird to test positive a week past your due date; sometimes it takes two days longer than expected. Are you sure about your ovulation? By the way, I can actually see something on that test...
