Women in (pre)menopause, or those starting their transition, can have an elevated hCG value >9.5. This is stated in the leaflet of every pregnancy test. At least, in most of them.
Perhaps that's why there's a faint line on the herb test? Getting pregnant at 47 while on the pill seems like an almost impossible task. Only a blood test can confirm this. Or a pregnancy test with an hCG value of 25, like the regular pregnancy tests from Action, CB. No early tests.
I'm not going to respond to nonsense comments, like the one saying it's open for us but everything here in the village is closed on Sundays! Or that I'd be mentally ill.
What Kiekeboe said was already told to you before. I also don't think you're pregnant. You just produce a low amount of hCG, but not because you're pregnant. Explain to your husband that you'd like this to be explained to you, and that's why you're going to the gynecologist.
I just forgot that you live in a village, baby05. My response, on the other hand, is sincere. Just get a test and see what it says. I don't know if it's true that a positive test means you should call the GP. Explain the situation and ask for a referral to another GP for the test, or to find out if you're in menopause or not, and then they can test for hCG in your blood. Yes or no.
Baby, you know by now that this is due to the menopause, right? You only show up here once in a while. And you’ve never been pregnant. You keep being told it’s the menopause.
It’s not strange that you feel pregnant when you’re making hCG.
I think it would be wise to talk to someone. To a psychologist to work this out.
You’re on the pill and at an age where you’re not trying for a baby. Yet you keep thinking about it. Can’t you let go of that life phase? Just swallow the pill; it’s much better for your body and your hormonal balance. If you stop the pill, you won’t get a real period, but rather a withdrawal bleed.
It's best to monitor your cycle and know which phase you're in, and have your estradiol levels tested. Based on that, it can be determined whether you're in menopause or not... but a test won't just turn positive on its own..
@lotus: no, a test doesn't just turn positive out of nowhere, but it could well fit with the transition. Being pregnant now would be highly unlikely, and in baby05's earlier posts, the timing often made it impossible for her to be pregnant.
Well, I just got a call back from the GP assistant. The GP I was looking at is available on Wednesday. But she discussed it with another GP I know, who’s familiar with my history. She said I should take another test next week, and if it’s positive, I should make an appointment—but not until 3 weeks from now, since there’d be nothing to see yet. So if it’s positive next week, I’d book an appointment in 2 weeks. She also said I’d be 4 weeks pregnant by then, and mentioned again that there’d be nothing to see at that stage.
Okay, so we know that.
So next week, another test, ...
Amelie: the baby isn't 'busy', she was on the pill after all. The 20 times before, she wasn't pregnant and she won't be now either. Good advice is given, but nothing is ever done with it. Always the same old story...
Yeah, I know Puck, but I’ve been following her from her previous topic, and she was also trying to get pregnant there. If I’m not mistaken. Btw, congratulations on your pregnancy.
She's actually trying not to get pregnant. She's on the pill. And every few months she's "pregnant" at times when it's impossible. She opens a topic and then disappears again.
