Hey girls, what am I reading?
Last year I looked into this a bit. In NL you have to go to a clinic for this. But you could also choose a Swedish donor (I think). The waiting times are shorter for this. At least that was the case 1.5 years ago.
I wish you lots of strength. You can always send me a pm. Thinking of you both.

Hey Meis, Nja you read it right... fate has struck
Nothing was found, just very tough tissue It's been two really rotten days for us... My husband has started to become more open to Kid but he doesn't want anyone to know.. so our grief is really behind our four walls now
What now? I'm really terrified now.. terrible headache Pff

Talk it over together, let your feelings speak and listen to each other. The decision to possibly go for a kid is something you need to think carefully about. In the Netherlands, there's currently a TV series called 'Niets liever dan een kind' (Nothing more than a child). It features a couple who, after several failed ICSI attempts, are now considering going for a kid. In the series, you see them going to the notary to have things legally documented. Maybe you can follow this in Belgium too? I thought it was on SBS 6.
Being a kid is a step that both of you need to be open to. Nowadays, you can apply certain selections so that the donor resembles your partner as much as possible.
How are things with your husband at the moment? It's so sad

I wanted to follow those programs, but apparently, that's not possible here in Belgium. He wants to make me happy and is therefore open to the idea of having kids, but he also needs to be fully on board because he doesn't want him to be unhappy because of it (even though he is a bit unhappy now too).
The pain is fortunately quite manageable compared to the afterbleedings after today... We won't have to worry about the notary since we're married, right? It will still be a long and heavy journey, I fear. Right now, we're really in our cozy little bubble, safe just the two of us. But I think Tuesday is when the heavy reality will really hit us

No idea how it exactly works, but in that program they do indeed register the rights of the child and father, I think, since it's known with Kid that it's different otherwise. Maybe worth asking about it when you're ready for that, so your husband gets full rights! I don't know much about this myself, but I wish you both lots of strength and hope someone who has experience with this reads it and can give you advice.

Thanks Anne, in Belgium this is still completely anonymous so the child will legally have my husband's last name etc. anyway... except Nja the biology doesn't quite match
    Louisa how are you doing?

It's so good that you're going ahead with your dream despite everything. I think we would have taken this step too, even though it's no longer anonymous in the NL. You can't just put aside the desire for a child in a jiffy, and I'm convinced that raising a child shapes their character to resemble their parents'.

I'm doing well. Already back at work for 3 weeks after my leave. It all flew by. Last Thursday marked exactly one year since the embryo that eventually grew into my daughter was transferred. What started as a terrible year full of sorrow and uncertainty ended up so beautifully. Although throughout the whole pregnancy, there was always the fear that something might go wrong. Now I'm such a proud mom and absolutely crazy about my girl. Really, girl... it's so overwhelming, and it's such a blessing that you get to experience this too.

Hopefully we can start 2020 off nicely too & leave 2019 behind as the most terrible year.
Going to the psychologist tomorrow, curious what she's going to tell us. She told my husband yesterday that I'll definitely cry there.. I'm really sure about that.. Well, she's probably used to it more than I am, right?
Is the little girl sleeping a bit better now?

You need to be open and honest with the psychologist. Crying is not weird at all.
She's doing really well right now

It turned out to be better than expected

That's so nice that it wasn't too bad, stff. I wanted to reply yesterday that someone like her is really used to it and in your situation, it's really understandable that this brings up emotions.
