Introductions
Just to introduce myself
mamainge
Hi ladies,
I'd like to introduce myself and share a bit of my story.
I'm Ingeborg, 32 years old, and already a mom to two boys, aged 8.5 and almost 6. I had both boys with my ex-partner. I've been with my current boyfriend for almost 3 years. About a year ago, we found out I was pregnant (planned, but still unexpected). Unfortunately, I fell ill in mid-December and fainted because I was pregnant and couldn't keep my blood sugar up. They rushed me to the hospital with sirens blaring, where they discovered that my fallopian tube had ruptured due to an ECT (ectopic pregnancy).
After a 3-month recovery period, I found out I was pregnant again—something I wasn't at all ready for, since I hadn't physically or mentally recovered enough yet.
This pregnancy was really tough for me, both physically and mentally. For the first 3.5 months, I was constantly sick and couldn't keep anything down because of the nausea.
At 4 months, with the help of medication, I finally started gaining some weight again. Unfortunately, that's when the next round of misery began: pelvic instability and illness. My symptoms only got worse, and eventually, they even suspected I might develop pregnancy-induced hypertension again.
Fortunately, that wasn't the case, but they don't know exactly what it is. I have an infection somewhere, with elevated white blood cell counts and ketones in my urine. For safety, I'm now on antibiotics and need to rest to prevent those hard contractions from turning into labor and causing a premature birth.
Fortunately, despite my clumsiness, the little guy is doing perfectly well. Both the 20-week scan and the growth scans show that the baby is bigger and heavier than average. If he continues growing like this, we're expecting nearly an 8-pounder!
Just 5 more weeks to go, and then our little man can come.
