Overall pain

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone here is familiar with this. Since this morning, I've had a sharp pain in my calf and my ligaments are really bothering me. My shoulders and arms hurt a lot too; I can barely lift them. I'm currently 21 weeks pregnant.

Does anyone else experience this?

Best wishes

    It could be anything, like a calf cramp? That's really common during pregnancy; I've been having them a lot at night too. Sounds a bit like you've got muscle soreness all over... maybe you've pushed yourself too hard? Could be the start of a cold. If it persists, you can mention it to your midwife. For ligament pain, you could try a maternity support belt, maybe from a prenatal shop. Not the most comfortable, but a sturdy one that provides support. Don't wear it all day, but use it when you're going for a long walk or working, etc.

    I had this too... I don't want to scare you, but for me it was pregnancy-induced hypertension (preeclampsia).

    Are those symptoms enough for that and so early in pregnancy? I have an appointment with the GP on Friday. I'll see how I feel and if not, I'll call to see if I should come earlier.

    @Lis
    It was a bit later for me. Other symptoms can include fluid retention, headaches, seeing stars, pain under your right ribs...
    I think if you go on Friday it should be fine. It could also just be a little flu.

    OH I don't have all that, just one-sided gland sore throat and pain too suddenly..
    But I was super busy at work yesterday so maybe that's also why I feel it. Anyway, now after a good night's sleep I don't have any band pain anymore, just my shoulders and arms that are hurting like that..

    So don't worry too much and just take it easy today.

    Hi Lis,
    How are things going with you??

    Hi @loekes5
    Feeling a bit better. I couldn’t think of anything regarding pregnancy, so I’ll probably call the doctor. Maybe it’s a calcium deficiency causing all my muscles to hurt, so I’ll ask about that on Monday.
