Retracted nipples, instead of growth

I'm 25 weeks pregnant and have more inverted nipples than at the start of the pregnancy. Is this due to pregnancy or is it concerning? I thought they were supposed to grow in preparation for breastfeeding? Has anyone here experienced this?

It's about whether they retract when you stimulate them, you know.

Thanks for your reply! Yeah, I do try, but it doesn't help. And that makes me feel insecure.

You really don't need to be insecure. Maybe you'll find something helpful on this site:

I have no idea, if the nipple really goes inward I'd ask the midwife about it? Can't hurt to ask there either. Mine are a bit bigger now I think than they were, not from the start. No idea what's normal here

Anne, thanks for your reply. I'll definitely ask about it next week. I also thought growth would be normal, but it's actually the other way around. I'm not getting anything with stimulation either, which was usually normal. That's why I thought it was worth asking

That does sound weird if it's actually decreasing. I'm no expert either, so it's a good idea to ask your midwife about it. They have a lot more experience with this and can check it out for you. Better to be sure.
