When to get pregnant after abdominal surgery

Dear ladies,
I have to undergo abdominal surgery (not laparoscopic), so a larger incision. There's a large cyst on my ovary that needs to be removed
Who else has had this and when can you get pregnant again? I know that recovery varies from person to person.
Are there any women here who got pregnant quite soon after the surgery? Did it go well or did you have a lot of trouble?
I hope there are positive experiences because my courage is sinking! In case I can even get pregnant naturally. Bah, what a rotten period..

You really should ask your doctor about this. After my C-section, I wasn't allowed to get pregnant for a year because the scar only becomes really strong after a year. It can happen earlier, but then the risks are higher and you'd be closely monitored. Maybe you're allowed to try sooner after your surgery, but make sure to ask properly. -
