No pill, but a condom, but..

Hi everyone, I'm new here. My name is Lisa, 27 years old. I lost a baby in January; I was 9 weeks pregnant. This was unplanned while I was on the pill. The relationship ended a few months ago, and I didn't go back on the pill because I prefer being without hormones. Yesterday I had a one-night stand, using a condom. However, it went quite worryingly in my opinion. He opened the condom with his teeth and put it on in the dark, so I had no idea if it was on correctly. He penetrated me three times, then his erection went down a bit and he lay next to me. He fingered me, and shortly after, he penetrated me again with the same condom still on. When he finished, he stayed inside me for a few more minutes. When his penis was soft, he pulled out without holding the condom. Shortly after, he said: "Where's that thing?" Oh yeah, I already have it. No idea where he pulled it from. When I got home and took off my underwear, there was some white stuff that smelled like semen, very little, yes. But I recognize that smell. I ovulate in a few days. I told him about this, but he's dismissive and is sure that the condom was fine. How big is the chance that something went wrong with the condom? And that I get pregnant? I do want to be a mother someday, but this isn't really the ideal situation. Maybe there are women with a similar situation.

Best, Lisa

I have no idea how big that chance is, but if you really don't want a baby right now, I'd get a morning-after pill from your GP just to be safe.

I'd follow Suuske's advice. Even with correct condom use, there's still a very small chance of getting pregnant (e.g., if there's a tiny hole in it). And if you're doubting because of his clumsiness, I'd assume the chance of pregnancy is quite a bit higher. Right now, you can still reduce the chance of a possible pregnancy.

It doesn't read like a pleasant one-night stand with all that clumsiness! Did he have the condom on for the last time? Because you didn't feel it either.

    How naive

What a special story, and you really let everything happen, didn't you? Why didn't you turn on the light or tell him to get a new condom? What did you do now, take the pill?

That’s quite a mood killer, turning on the light.. I can imagine you’d go along with it at that moment and also expect him to make sure it’s set up properly etc.. unfortunately things don’t always go perfectly, maybe less wise in hindsight but she jumps on it right away and asks for advice. I hope she either took the map or, if she doesn’t want to, looks at what comes of it and goes for the baby.

Yeah, light is a mood killer, but reading her story, she’s had her doubts about whether things were going well, and that’s not good for my mood either. Hopefully, she’ll let us know. And she’s not necessarily pregnant just because there was some sperm in her pants.

Haha yeah okay, that's also a good point and that's true, technically it's possible but you never know. For some it takes (very) long and they need months or even years. I also hope they hear something later, but that it turns out positive for her in this situation.

She's not asking about lamps or the other replies. She's asking something else; read back through the thread again.

If I did 14 rounds with ovulation tests etc., I personally think it must have been extremely coincidental haha
  11. Anonymous Guest #12

Yeah, she's asking how likely it is that she's pregnant now. Hopefully there's an online quiz
  12. Anonymous Guest #13

    Hahahahah
  13. Anonymous Guest #14

I think it's just a guy. If you want to know if you're pregnant or could be, you don't need that many details. Or is she afraid he fingered her pregnant?
  14. Anonymous Guest #15

I really find it so hateful when people act as if nothing bad could ever happen to them. Do you really think this woman was sitting there thinking, "Oh, tomorrow I'll just stress about what happened"? If you can't say something kind, then just shut up. Wait until the time comes when you yourself have to deal with something awful. Or at least something really serious. Let's see if you're still so supportive then.
  15. Anonymous Guest #16

And then it's about the reaction of "how naive and those who are under lamps etc."
  16. Anonymous Guest #17

It’s cheeky. Otherwise it’s really weird, haha! But I don’t know why you’re stressing so much. If she were REALLY worried, she’d just buy a test. She wants to know how likely it is that she could be pregnant; how is anyone supposed to know that here? Statistically it’s 22%, and then what? Would she suddenly feel less “crap”? No, she’d still have to take a test if she’s worried. There wasn’t much that was mean, just some questions about why she’s suddenly stressed when that whole evening clearly didn’t go her way.

I should have said something about it, indeed. Meanwhile, he's incredibly angry because he doesn't want a child. He keeps saying everything went fine with the condom, but I find it quite strange. I find it pretty double-dealing to take out a map while I've gone through something as awful as a miscarriage. There's nothing else to do now but wait and see.

Either you made a mistake in your profile, Lisa, or you don't need to be afraid of getting pregnant since, according to your profile, you're already 27 weeks pregnant . Are you expecting a little secret on August 26, 2019??
  19. Lisa #20

Yes, that's the miscarriage, I just don't know how to delete it. Do you happen to know how?
