Smoke in the car

Hi girls,
I'm suddenly bothered by something. I'm newly and unexpectedly pregnant. My boyfriend smokes outside and also in the car. Not where I am, obviously. But it doesn't seem right to me; in this way, I'll still get secondhand smoke and the baby too. Are there any girls who have issues with this too? ????

You don't have to worry about it, but there are plenty of women who smoke during pregnancy without any issues. (I certainly don't approve of it!!) I don't think it's a big problem if you're exposed to secondhand smoke or just inhale some smoke from the air. It's so minimal.
Even though it was unexpected, congratulations anyway!

Seems like the perfect reason to quit! Who even smokes these days... Still good that he doesn’t do it in the car though. But yeah, it’s not great. Not smoking is obviously better. So come on! Best reason ever!

Back in the day, pregnant women used to smoke and they’d smoke passively too. But now it’s clear that this can cause a lot of harm to the unborn baby. So smoking during pregnancy is definitely ‘not done’! Secondhand smoking is just as bad as smoking yourself. Maybe ask your partner to stop smoking in the car, since that smell lingers anyway, and in enclosed places where you’re often around. That way you can reduce the risk for your little one.

My boyfriend also smoked in the car during my pregnancy, though he did it with the window open, and mostly when I wasn't there. I explicitly asked him to stop. The tobacco smell and secondhand smoke are harmful. So try to come into contact with tobacco smoke as little as possible. And yes, there are women who smoke during pregnancy. But in many cases, the baby is born underweight, and there's a risk of premature birth. So once again, talk to your boyfriend about it. I can imagine that the cigarette smoke in a car doesn't smell very nice either.
