MissB
Hi everyone,

After a long absence, I'm back.
I was a member here before, about 7 years ago when I was pregnant with our son.
After a turbulent delivery and a lot of turbulence in the years following his birth.
My partner and I have (finally) become pregnant after a long journey.

This time it's (still) a huge change because we're expecting.
Yes, a twin pregnancy!!

I'm 10 weeks and 2 days pregnant today.
We have an ultrasound and check-up on April 18th.

I'm under strict medical supervision.
This is all related to my first pregnancy, which ended in severe pre-eclampsia (if I'm spelling that right).

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Love,
MissB

    Hi there, it's me again.
I accidentally found my old account.
It turned out to be linked to my phone number.
So I'll be active on this account from now on.

    Best,

Congratulations! I hope you can enjoy this pregnancy despite your earlier experience!

    First of all, congratulations!
A twin pregnancy must have been quite a shock, right?
I’m also under medical care due to pre-eclampsia, so I know how you feel.

    @Joyce,
    Thank you so much.
So far I'm enjoying it despite the fatigue and being out of breath after just a few steps
    But everything is going well.

    @Lizzy,
    Thank you.
Yes, it was quite a shock. Now I still catch myself checking the ultrasound when I'm alone, thinking "it's really like this, right?....?!"
Because with the first ultrasound there was one empty sac and one filled.
With the second ultrasound I assumed it was one baby and discussed what comes next since that empty sac will eventually take up space, so what are the options.
Well, with the second ultrasound there was a surprise: twins
So overwhelmed, amazed, and also startled.
Fortunately, I've come to terms with it a bit, but the disbelief... yeah, she's still there

Yes, those check-ups are something... I do find it nice to have them. Extra is never a bad thing.
Are you also taking those medications now to reduce the risk...?

    Greetings, Ivy

No, those extra checks are sometimes a bit more work, but they do put my mind at ease because if I understand correctly, you ended up with a baby?
In my case, it was so early and severe that our daughter was stillborn.
From the moment I knew I was pregnant, I’ve been taking ASAflow 160mg, one pill a day.

The extra check-ups I’m having are related to pre-eclampsia. Not about how the pregnancy came about.

Now that we’ve found out we’re having twins, the check-ups are already more frequent as standard So basically, for me it’s 1+1 = more or less extra check-ups

I’m taking 80mg acetylsalicylic acid because of the pre-eclampsia. I’m also taking double folic acid (prescribed by my OB-GYN) and iron because of the twins.

Our son was brought into the world by emergency C-section at 27.4 weeks. If we had waited any longer, there was a big chance that neither of us would be sitting here now. But anyway, we’ve had quite a long journey behind us and we’re still not out of the woods yet. But it was very uncertain for a long time whether our son would make it.
