Insemination or not

Hi everyone,
Quick situation: we've been trying to get pregnant for a year now. So far, it hasn't worked out.
Fertility tests for me: ultrasound, hormones—all good. I ovulate regularly on my own.
Tests for my partner: sperm is fine, just a slightly lower score on morphology, but the gynecologist said it wasn't an issue since motility and quantity were good.
Two options: keep trying naturally and let nature take its course, or go for artificial insemination.
Are there any couples in a similar situation? What choice did you make and why?

I was in the exact same situation.
They first did a look-and-see procedure with an HSG to make sure my fallopian tubes and uterus looked good (since they can’t see everything on an ultrasound).

That was also completely fine. Then we started with IUI and hormones to boost our chances. After the third attempt, it worked out, and now we have a lovely son who’s 9 months old.

We went for IUI because I was completely fed up with counting days, waiting for my period, and the whole mandatory hassle. I’m usually a pretty level-headed person, but this really got under my skin.

I hope you figure things out!

Oh, so relatable! After a year, we also had the first fertility tests, and like you, we were told to try naturally first. The chance calculation showed that our natural chances were just as good as with IUI. We decided to keep trying on our own for a few more months because we were tired of counting and all the mandatory hassle. But once you start IUI, you have to deal with hormones and mandatory hospital visits. The flexibility just isn't there anymore. We chose to try until April and then start with IUI. In March, I got pregnant, and I was so happy that we got to skip the hospital.

My advice: talk about it together a lot, and decide each month what you want to do. You could set certain milestones to determine how far you want to go. At one point, we also told our family and friends, and that really lifted our spirits and gave us new courage and hope for the next round.
