But why are you even testing? You're on the pill, you've had your period... Why would you even think you're pregnant and then take a test? Especially when you know you keep getting false positive tests? I just find it hard to take this seriously.
And if I had hCG in my body all the time without being pregnant, I'd demand a referral to the gynecologist, because I'd want to know where it's coming from. -

Yes, I agree with Puck. After all those positive tests at odd times in your cycle, I would’ve already been sitting with the gynecologist if there was nothing visible on the ultrasounds... What a weird GP not to refer you. Especially at that age, right?
But there’s a clear line visible that’s getting stronger. So something must be going on. I would’ve thought vague lines otherwise. So I’m curious what’s going to happen, baby05. -

I'll keep you updated, Clautjuh.
First, I'll give the doctor a call. -

I don't know if you're from Belgium or the Netherlands, but here in Belgium you just go to your OB-GYN without needing a referral from your GP, okay?
In your case, I would have called the OB-GYN a long time ago and made an appointment...
They can explain more to you than you getting here posting test results every month. We can't give you confirmation anyway because we (or most of us) aren't doctors.

Baby 05, the negative points are about the baby, so it'll be hard to get rid of them. Not that a child is negative for us, but all the things that come with it, like childcare, feeding, etc. I already have two daughters who are grown up, 7 and 10 years old, so I'm still hesitant. -

I don't think you can count on it that she had a normal cycle. If you just start the pill in the middle of something, you don't know if you're protected. So it's possible that those 3 weeks of pills didn't do much. The blood you lost might not have been a real period, but more like bleeding because you stopped taking the pill. And above all, you hear a lot of stories from women who bleed and are still pregnant.
Since the test is getting darker, I'd say you're probably pregnant. And if the GP takes a blood test today or tomorrow, your HCG should be higher than 5 in my opinion. Otherwise, the test wouldn't be that dark.
Good luck anyway! Hopefully, this does indicate a pregnancy! And most importantly, hopefully everything goes well and the pregnancy stays secure. -

I totally agree with Puck. This is unbelievable. The only thing you want, baby05, is to think you're pregnant. You know yourself that it wasn't like that every month. Linda once gave an explanation that sounded very logical: tests showed that women in perimenopause sometimes produce small amounts of hCG. That explained the positive tests at impossible times in your cycle. It's much more logical than a 46-year-old woman getting pregnant every month despite the pill. This isn't the first time you've been on the pill. If you call or visit your GP and show them this test, they'll say you're pregnant until you get your period again, and the story starts all over. You need to demand a referral. Unless you want to keep living in this delusion that there's a miscarriage every month. -

Women in menopause can have up to 9.5 hCG from their own. This is because the ovaries produce this hormone. I read this somewhere. -

Now that you mention it, Herewegoagain... yeah, I wasn't protected yet! Only after the second pack of pills. That's what they told me for quite a while.
It could be withdrawal bleeding since I started bleeding 3 days after stopping the pill.
I wasn't pregnant in December and started the pill then.
Herewegoagain, thank you, it could be what you're saying. The test is quite dark, yes.
And thank you for your best wishes, very sweet.
I have nothing to do with negative things now.
So I really won't respond to that other one.
I just need to know what it is, … -

The nurse practitioner listened to my whole story and said she’s going to request a referral to the gynecologist from my GP. I’ll get this by email and then have to call myself to book an appointment.
I mentioned that the one line is a bit lighter, and she said a line is a line.
She said I don’t need a blood test, according to her, but should go to the midwife. However, it ended up being the gynecologist because of my past.
Well, hopefully the GP will give me that referral so I can ask things right away!
Hehe pffff what a situation. -

Red_Tears, thanks for your info but I'm not in menopause.
But if I get to talk to the gynecologist, I'll ask if this is correct. -

Baby05, I hope for you that it means a pregnancy. But I had just read this somewhere, so I wanted to mention it. -

I was wondering if baby05 has already had 20 pregnancies and miscarriages by now, since half a year ago, and here she is back on the forum with an unbelievable story.
To everyone who doesn't know baby05's posts from the past year: not a single word of it is true.
Baby05, the GP doesn't refer you because they've gotten to know you well by now. There's absolutely no reason to refer you to a gynecologist. You're not pregnant and you're not sick. You're just a bit too old to get pregnant.
Stop testing. Stop going on and off the pill. Stop with your weird stories. You're making all these young girls who are just starting to try to get pregnant feel really insecure.
And honestly, someone who's 46 should know better.
What I wrote above sounds pretty harsh, but it really needs to be said. -

Baby05, I hope you're pregnant! But please take this seriously. If it's really true that you've been getting positive pregnancy tests for months that go up and down, it could also mean you have cysts in or around your uterus. Even malignant cysts. They produce hCG in your body too! So get checked as soon as possible. Greetings -

@Stef she's not a special case. Baby05 has nothing.
Just a psychological issue, and there are other types of doctors trained for that. That's the help she needs. -

That's why she's not responding anymore.
