Baby in the bath

Lenie
I have a question. My little boy is almost 3 months old now but doesn't fit in the baby bath anymore. I have a walk-in shower. What could be a solution for bathing him? Taking him under the shower with me feels creepy to me; it's all so slippery and he's quite active.
Greetings, Lenie

They can sit in the tummy tub for quite a while.
You know those sit/lie tubs for the bath, but you could also put them under the shower.
Usually, I go bathing with my daughter, but when we shower, I often sit on the floor with her; it's indeed very slippery.
You can also use special shower gloves to hold the baby. But you could also use a towel.

I often hear that people put a hydrophilic cloth over their arm so it’s less slippery. It’s a tough time at first, but once they start sitting up, it gets easier. During that period, my husband often showered her, and I’d dry her off afterward. He wasn’t scared, but I was. Maybe that’s an option too?

Thanks for the advice! I already ordered a foldable baby bath, but it’s too small. Sil is really long—59.5 cm. When he lies flat in the tub, he’s pressed right up against the top edge. I’ll try using a towel under the shower instead.

Then you'll have to support him more until he can sit on his own. Of course, he still fits in it; my toddler still fits in it too. Indeed, not horizontally anymore, but he became more and more vertical until he could sit on his own.
You're lucky with some smaller boys; they still fit in the tummy tub at 9 months. And you won't believe it, but my toddler sat in it after that, so it still fits!
In the past, we used to fit three of us in such a baby bath, so what went wrong?

Just wanted to say, my kids were in the baby bath until they were about 9 months old! Not in a tummy tub (bucket) but a regular bath. They don't really need to lie flat, do they? We have the following, it also has a handy "rim"/cutout at the bottom where the bum kind of hangs..

My daughter is 2 and still uses the baby bath. She can’t lie down properly yet, but then her legs stick out of the tub. She thinks it’s a fun little game, by the way. I’ve had it on the floor since she started sitting upright in it. Especially now that she can get in and out of it herself, of course.

I've already found a solution, so he can stay in the bath comfortably. It also seemed strong to me that he's outgrowing it now while he's still so young.
Thank you all for your responses.

Hahaha, my son is also 75 cm and 10 months old. He definitely can't lie flat anymore if we're talking about 56 cm—that was his birth length, so he would never have fit. Yeah, what's going wrong with you?

And my son weighs 11.5 kg. He can't sit up for long yet, so it was heavy anyway, but it did fit, though.

I've also been showering with my son for a few months now. Just with a washcloth over my arm. Not because he can't bathe anymore, but because it's just more practical and quicker sometimes.
