Hey ladies,
I haven't had any contact with my in-laws for a few weeks now. This was broken off after a really intense argument. My in-laws have quite a lot of money. And I'm afraid they want to start a legal case to get our little one into their custody.
Do they (through means of money) have a chance in a legal case? And what would you do if you were me right now?
I've already told the daycare that they absolutely must not give the baby to her grandparents. And the locks at our home have been changed. But the fear won't let go of me.

Hey, that's really sad. But it only counts as neglect if there's actual neglect. I don't think that's the case here, so don't worry. Good that the daycare knows.

Hey girl, I'm in a similar situation with my mom—no contact for 10 years, but yeah. I think if they really want to, they can ask to have your child for an afternoon or something. I was also scared my mom would ask, so I asked her here and there, and she was allowed to but never did because she knew her situation and didn't want to upset my daughter. Now, if the in-laws are all proper and do things correctly, it might be possible if they take a step forward. Good luck with everything.

I hope you're reading this.. They have no rights.. Even though they have money.. Only if they've taken care of their grandchild for a long time on fixed days and thus had a good connection with the child.. otherwise not!
Pity for them.. With money you can't have everything, right.. Lucky you!

It must be awful to live in such fear. Money really won't persuade a judge to hand your child over to your in-laws. For a case about child custody to even go to court, there usually needs to be a lot of prior issues (neglect, inability to care for your children, etc.). You really don't need to be afraid of that. It's a good idea to inform daycare that your child must not be given to anyone else – even if it's family.
