Period or implantation

Hi everyone! I'm new here. I usually just lurk on forums, but I'm really confused by what my body is doing right now. I'm not looking for answers, just a bit of advice and experiences from others since I'm at my wit's end.
I have pretty irregular and long cycles (never shorter than 28 days, longest was 49), but now on cycle day 25 I lost some pink discharge that lasted for 9 days. Less than half a panty liner per day, mostly just wiping pink when I pee (sorry for the details). I have no idea if I should call this a period. It wasn't bright red and there were no clots. I called my GP, who advised me to take a pregnancy test. It was negative, and if I count forward, I'm now on cycle day 34.
I know only a test can give a definitive answer, but I'm maybe looking for some reassurance. I can't make sense of this and I'm open to other explanations than pregnancy.

Hey girl, I had that too in the middle of my cycle, so everyone said it was implantation. I had cramps for 2 weeks before my period, but unfortunately, my period came 1 week early and was heavier than usual. All my tests were negative, so I don't think it was a miscarriage (never experienced one before). Now I have an appointment and will see the gynecologist to find out what it was, because I've been having weird things going on in the last few days (we're currently not trying to get pregnant anymore). Last month I felt ovulation, but not this month. The body is good, but hard to understand.
