How did you experience the first days with your baby?

Hi ladies!
I'm brand new to this forum, so cozy :-)
I'm really curious about your experiences of the first days and weeks with your newborn. You know, during pregnancy everything feels so slow, and once the birth is over, it suddenly goes super fast. You're terribly tired and you want that tiredness and those broken nights to be over, but once they are, you quickly start missing those 'smallest clothes', that first period.
How did you experience it? And especially, how did you document it? Did you take a lot of photos? Did your partner take a lot of photos? Did you keep a fill-in book (did that work out)? Do you even need that, to immortalize those first moments? Or do you prefer that he/she grows up smoothly and focus more on growing up?
The reason I'm so curious about your experiences is because I recently started a new concept, namely 'maternity stories'. That's a photoshoot and a chat with the result of a time capsule in words and images. So a personal story of your maternity period. Because it's completely new, I'm looking for your experiences so I can empathize properly.
I myself have two sons, one 3.5 years old (Oliver) and a baby of half a year (Charlie). I really struggle with the speed of life. And I would like to keep our little Charlie in my arms forever. But it's so double, because of course I also want to see him grow up and become big. I'm glad I'm a photographer and thus have everything at hand to make 'decent' images of the little ones :-D, although it's very pity to not be in them often yourself. Do your partners often take photos?
I look forward to getting to know you! I've often read along, but never registered. Time to change that :-)

Hey, I have a little one who's 8 months old. I do miss being with a tiny baby haha. I recently babysat a one-month-old and it was so lovely. My first few weeks went well, and I'm still happy now. He still wakes up often at night, but when I felt tired during the day, I'd nap with him. I'm totally in love with my little one. I'd like a second child, but only when he can walk. I take LOTS of photos and videos, and then I put them in a photo book. I make books of my son, or together of him and my husband. My husband makes books of my son and me. Selfies with the three of us haha, I want to have it all. From the birth (the first moment he was in my arms) until now, 8 months. No photos from the pregnancy, but I did save his ultrasounds.
