Hi everyone!
I’m Stefanie, 29 years old, and I’m just pregnant with my second baby.
My little daughter Lily just turned one. When I was pregnant with her, I’ve been reading along from the sidelines on different forums, but now I feel it’s time to get more involved myself.

Hope to see you all soon!

Welcome and congratulations! I’m 25 and have a little one who’s 5 months old.
Is it exciting to have a second? Does it feel like the first time, or are you less nervous?

I still find it pretty nerve-wracking, you know. You always start comparing... wasn't I already nauseous last time...?
The doctor also told me that I'm not immune to CMV, so I have to be careful not to share spoons, cups, etc. with my little girl. That's hard for me to deal with.
Besides, I'm just as much counting down the days to the first ultrasound as I was a year and a half ago. Although I have to say that for the birth I'm kind of like... bring it on, we can always do that again.

What is CMV? When I was pregnant, I wasn't allowed to kiss kids on the mouth or use the same spoon, etc.
Haha yeah, that's the advantage. You know how a birth goes now, haha.

CMV stands for cytomegalovirus, which is basically a virus that isn't harmful unless you're pregnant. If you haven't had it before, you need to be careful with saliva/urine/etc. from little kids during your pregnancy. You probably didn't have antibodies for it either, which is why they advised you not to share spoons and stuff.

They did induce my labor because I couldn't go past my due date due to gestational diabetes. So that's new for me... discovering on your own when contractions start and your water breaks.

Did you have an easy birth?

Yes, luckily she had a super birth. I did have contractions inducers, but I also had an epidural. While pushing, I got quite sleepy, but once my awesome baby was out, my sleepiness was gone haha.
