Miscarriage

Hi everyone,

I've thought long and hard about whether to post this.

I had a miscarriage and didn't know I was pregnant.

My day started with aching pain in my back. I always get that when my period is due. But I didn't get it because I still had at least 2 weeks to wait until my period. But I thought it was probably just my back. I got some brown discharge and early afternoon some bright red bleeding but not much I thought well I've gotten my period early had quite a lot of trouble with my aching back. Towards the evening I felt like I was going through nicely and went to the toilet and felt something slide out it was such a big thick clump that I thought this doesn't make sense. I do have some clots but you get those away this stayed together. I took a picture of it just in case

Hi Sammy, that's so sad to hear you're going through that. I also had a miscarriage without even knowing I was pregnant. I was still on the pill back then. My period was heavier than usual, and before I started bleeding, I also saw 'something' during a toilet visit that looked like an embryo. Three days later, I went to the GP with my symptoms and the incident, and she told me that everything I described sounded like a miscarriage and had me get a blood test. There was still HCG in my body, so I had definitely been pregnant. If you're not sure, you can also go to the GP with your story, and through a blood test, you can get certainty whether you actually had a miscarriage or if it could be something else... Wishing you lots of strength anyway

Are you absolutely sure it was a miscarriage? Normally, ovulation happens about 2 weeks before your period, so you wouldn't be pregnant yet, unless it's been longer since you got pregnant?

I'd suggest taking a test just to be sure, so you know for certain. Then you can either leave it be if it's not (and maybe see a doctor for advice, especially since you mentioned you often get clots), or you can start processing it. Either way, sending lots of strength!

Anyway, I’d advise you to change your profile picture. It might shock people, but it could also bring up emotions for those of us who’ve had a miscarriage too.

    Hi!

I mean by "clots" during a period you clearly see tissue in the clot, and if I were pregnant it would make sense that I wouldn't ovulate anymore.

Yeah, that's why I'm asking if it was already longer? So you didn't get your period last month then. I'd still take a test, just to be sure.
