Wish me luck (who else is expecting their first baby)

Ef
2 weeks ago we decided to start trying to fulfill our wish for a child.
I find it all super exciting, but I'm really looking forward to it! (my boyfriend is too, by the way)
Since my father is disabled (and I'm healthy), I first had to find out through my GP whether I'm a carrier.
And lucky me! I'm luckily not a carrier and we can get started!

I stopped the pill in Dec 2017 and since then have had a nice regular cycle of 28 days.
I'm now in my fertile period and according to calculations should ovulate on Friday.
I'm also going to try testing this with ovulation tests.

Who else is trying?
I'm also very curious to hear your stories!

I'm pregnant now, but I really wish you lots of success during this exciting time and hope you get a positive test soon!

    @orchidea
    Congratulations on the pregnancy!
Hopefully, I can say that soon too!
    Thank you!

Hey Ef! Exciting! We're trying too My cycle isn't that regular though, sometimes 27 days, sometimes 36 It's handy that yours is so regular! I haven't used ovulation tests yet, I'm trying to keep it a bit relaxed... as much as possible but it's still such a weird idea! Haha
Good that you're not pregnant, good that you got that checked! Did you ovulate for the weekend now? Exciting!

Good luck, dear Ef! Exciting and nice that you got the green light!! Was your egg mine, or is it coming this weekend?

Thanks for your replies. Really nice!
I think I should have ovulated on Thursday or Friday.
I tried to check this using ovulation tests, to get a better idea of when my ovulation is.
Unfortunately without success. The second line stays quite faint.
With "trying hard", as everyone here calls it. Haha!
But I still don't know if I actually ovulated.
For next month I bought a basal thermometer. To check how things are going with my ovulation.

I still have a little hope that I won't get my period on June 29th.

Keep your fingers crossed for me!
And hopefully it'll work out for you guys soon too! I'm rooting for you.

Exciting! But maybe a faint line is also good? (I don’t know, never seen one like that before)
Exciting! What is a cb? Clearblue ovulation test?
That would really be nice for you! I’ve already gotten my period twice while we’ve been trying, but I’m (still) being patient though
Fingers crossed for each other! That definitely helps

    Hi Mus,
According to the instructions, there really should be a dark line... I find it unclear. So I'll indeed use the Clearblue ovulation tests next month; maybe this will give me more clarity. The test will either show a smile or not. Can't get clearer than that.
Now my first cycle is over, and I hope not to get my period on June 29th. But... patience is key. We're in no rush at all, just really enthusiastic. Haha!
I'm also rooting for you! And good luck!

    Hi ladies.
I'm also trying for my first baby. I'm currently in round 8. I've recently started using ovulation tests too. According to my own calculations, today is my egg day. This is what my tests look like.

Love and good luck to everyone

Mus, twice became pregnant "while you were busy"?
  10. Tooby #11

Probably she means that she wasn't pregnant for 2 rounds.
  11. Mus Guest #12

Haha oops that does sound a bit weird I really meant what Tooby said, 2 rounds not being pregnant, not that I got my period during the ... Haha Thanks for sharing that photo Bloempje! Now I have a bit of an idea how those ovulation tests work. Maybe I'll use those tests next month too. This 3rd round probably won't work out for me either, I was sick for a whole week, so not much action
With a smiley it's indeed even clearer Ef, good luck! But who knows, you might not get your period anymore, that would be totally great! Don't you guys also find it bizarre that there are so many days in the month when you absolutely can't get pregnant? We've been scared our whole lives... Turns out it doesn't happen that quickly after all!
  12. Merel #13

Hihihi, yeah that's so true! But what's also the case is; if you really want something it's hard to get it, and if you don't want it at all... heard enough stories from girls who got pregnant from their one night stand! So unfair...
  13. Bloempje #14

@mus yes, I find these tests really nice, you can see them so beautifully walking on and off again. And they're not expensive .
  14. Alexandra Guest #15

    Sensitest ovulation tests are good!
  15. Bloempje #16

    Yes, definitely Alexandra!

    Hi everyone,
It's so nice to read all your stories. You see, I'm not the only one with struggles!
It's also really nice to read your opinions and experiences, I've learned a lot from them! Thanks!
    Here's a quick update.
According to my app and calculations, my ovulation should have been last Friday (June 15). I'll call it cute, let's say it was 1 day earlier or later. Around that time we had sex and early in the week again (sorry for the details).
On Tuesday and Wednesday I really felt bad. Nauseous, upset stomach, headache, white mucus discharge (from below) and just not feeling quite right.
And then you naturally go to Google. I know, not always the best. But anyway, I got curious!
It could naturally be many different things.
My expected period is on Friday, June 29, so fingers crossed!
I hope for everyone that it works out quickly, so everyone can enjoy their pregnancy!
    Good luck to you all!
  17. Snowflake #18

    Hi ladies!
Can I join in too? On Wednesday I have my MS appointment as usual, and from then on we're also going for our first baby!
    Everyone is sooo excited!
  18. Merel #19

Exciting news! Maybe you should help ML with aiming? But what are they going to investigate now? I'll be rooting for you!!

Welcome Snowflake, nice! Have you been off the pill or other contraception for a while?
  19. Snowflake #20

I've been off the pill for a year now, so I've got a good handle on my cycle by now. We've been using condoms for the past year, so it's such a relief to be done with that
