Anonymous, it's not crazy at all. I first called an ultrasound clinic instead of a midwife (since midwives here don't do ultrasounds themselves), and she also said, "uhh.. seems handy if you first check who you want as your midwife hahahaha".
So you can first approach a midwife, and she'll do an ultrasound with you, have an introductory chat, and inform you about everything you need to know, and then you'll already be much wiser. If you call her now, you can ask about the bleeding right away, and you can call tomorrow!
Damsels, I went to see my GP who didn't do any tests at all and just said I'm pregnant Because I did it three times, he said it's reliable enough. We have an appointment with the midwife for the end of May.
