Fish from the fishmonger

Don't worry about a sandwich. If you do it once in a while... at the fishmonger, it was fresh, I assume! Let go...

Fish from the fishmonger is usually fresh. Just ask them and let them know you're pregnant.
The issue is that if the fish is vacuum-packed, it might be older, and the bacteria inside have had the chance to multiply. That's not a problem if you're not pregnant, but for pregnant women and people with weakened immune systems, it can be problematic.
Fresh smoked fish is okay, with the emphasis on fresh.

I didn't eat the smoked salmon... I was more anxious about my tuna salad sandwich. It was fresh and the fishmonger said it was okay. But you do start doubting, right?
    Yeah, let it go.

The smoked salmon from the fishmonger is also okay, since the fishmonger (hopefully!) has fresh products. It's really just about vacuum-packed stuff from the supermarket. Anyway, I've always eaten fish from the fishmonger, especially salmon!
