Wow, that's intense, Baby05! I know your story a bit already. So, do I understand correctly that you ended up with one daughter and the other pregnancies ended in miscarriage?
I would indeed have further tests done by your gynecologist. Maybe you'll get more answers to your questions then. 8 miscarriages is really, really a lot, that's so heavy! -

Hi Lin,
I have 3 living children.
Not sure, maybe just put a period after it now. -

Oh, then I read it wrong! And do you mean your current husband or your ex?
That sounds like a tough decision. You're the only one who can make that choice. You know how much you can handle and how big your desire for children is. -
Baby05 #24
Not from my current husband.
Yes, it's definitely tough...
You're making me think, dear Linda.
The desire for children is strong, though. -

Oh my, Baby05, what a sad story
I wish you lots of strength and wisdom in your decision!
@Linda, here's a little link below, they're in Rotterdam and Utrecht.

I'm no longer going to the gynecologist, so I can't discuss the baby aspirin with them there. Are you going to take it on your own? I think I read somewhere that it can be a bit harsh on your stomach, but I'm already taking omeprazole (stomach protector), so I shouldn't really have any issues with it. I have a little bit of a "if it doesn't help, it won't hurt" attitude now. I did read quite a few stories about this back after my first miscarriage (and that they especially give it in Belgium more easily, because there have been scientific studies showing it's not useful, but well, when I read all those stories again....). I'd have to look into it again myself now, to see if I can get it, what mg and from when until when you could take it. -

I'm also in the Facebook group 'recurrent miscarriages', and there are lots of people with firsthand experience.
You could just swallow it on your own or maybe consult your GP?
You need to take the baby aspirin, 1x per day, which is a very small dose. And you can start as soon as you're pregnant, but some people start after ovulation and then stop again when they get their period.
I've heard different stories about when to stop. From after implantation (so about 8 weeks), up to 20 weeks...
But maybe I can ask the midwife that once I'm pregnant. -

Yeah, I was already thinking about asking my GP. I have to go back soon anyway because I need to get my blood drawn again since my liver values were too high. I could always call my own doctor too; she was always okay with me calling her.
For now, I'm pretty happy because my ovulation test finally showed a slightly more visible line than in the past couple of days
So it would be perfectly timed! Fingers crossed

What a coincidence, my liver values were also slightly elevated! I had to get another blood test after 6 weeks, which is now about.
How nice of the ovulation test. I didn't want to do them, but yesterday I suddenly had some bleeding and stabbing pains on the right side, so I tried one anyway. It was negative. I should have had it a week later anyway, so I'll wait calmly. -

Yeah, it's definitely a coincidence that yours is also a bit elevated.
Mine was just by chance, because it was part of a general blood test ordered by my GP, since I'm still so tired. She said those liver values had nothing to do with my fatigue, so I shouldn't worry about it, because the liver is such a complex organ—it can be related to diet, and I had also taken a lot of medication recently due to stomach pain. And I'm not the only one in the family with slightly higher values.
What did they tell you about yours?
Hope your cycle picks up nicely again now!

For me, it was also a coincidence. I also wanted a general check-up because I kept feeling so tired and drained. They first said nothing had come up, then they called back to say my liver values were slightly elevated, but that I didn't need to worry. And then, 6 weeks later, I had to get poked again to monitor it.
I read online that it can also be caused by stress. We've had quite a stressful year behind us, so I wouldn't be surprised. I'm curious to see how it is now. -

Ah, yeah, we've had plenty of stress here too

A very late reply, hopefully your pregnancy wish is going well by now. I have a success story and want to share it
Had three recurrent miscarriages, the heartbeat stopped each time at 8-9 weeks. Terrible. Underwent all sorts of tests with no special findings. Except for a small suspicion of a septum (heart-shaped uterus). This would be very minimal and didn't need further investigation. Gynecologists kept saying I had bad luck. Just try again.
It felt like anything but bad luck and I wanted further diagnostics, but this was refused. Eventually decided to go to Belgium. There I immediately got an MRI scan and hysteroscopy. The septum (partition) turned out to be so large that I barely didn't have 2 separate uteri. And my uterus was still full of miscarriage remnants. What a miss in NL!
I had a procedure (20 min under anesthesia) where the partition was removed. Life Expert Centre (dr Valkenburg) is in Hove (Antwerp) and is so skilled. My uterus healed without scars. I got pregnant quickly again and am now a proud mother of a healthy daughter
Hopefully it won't be necessary, but don't let them run you around in circles. Protocols are very different in Belgium. More individual care is provided and they look at YOU. My health insurance (VGZ) covered everything.
All strength & success to women who have to go through this. It's so sad to lose trust in your body, but there is hope! -

Our first pregnancy went smoothly despite being unplanned.
Then for the second one, unfortunately it ended in a miscarriage, then again pregnant and another miscarriage. And that within 4 months.
That's really tough, it just is.
Now after 2 years we're trying again for a second, finally it seemed to work but it looks like it might go wrong again.
But despite all this, I'd personally keep trying as long as I possibly can.
