Leetje, thank you so much, dear girl. I hope I'm right and that everything is okay. I'll call the hospital this afternoon, hopefully I can get my blood tested for hCG. -

@Nancy how are you doing now, a bit at the end of the day? Do you have more symptoms now? -
Nancy #83
@ Leetje. It's sweet that you're thinking of me, girl. Things are actually getting better. I called the hospital on Tuesday and emailed them my test results. Based on those, they were able to reassure me.
Everything's looking good now.
Tomorrow I'll do one more test to see if things have improved even more, and if so, just enjoy it.
How are the rest of the girls doing? -

Things are going well for us. My fiancé is going back to work today for the first time. He still has some pain, but hopefully, it'll be okay (he works in elderly care, so it's quite physically demanding).
On July 9th, we have a follow-up appointment at the hospital regarding the procedure, and after that, I'll have my injection instruction.
In August, I'll have my withdrawal bleed. We're getting married on August 10th and then going on a trip for 22 days
. When we're back in early September, we'll start with the injections and the ICSI process.
For now, I'm taking a bit of a step back from the forum. I find it hard to see all the positive pregnancy tests coming by, so I just want to step away from it for now ;-) I'm going to enjoy preparing for the wedding (only 50 days left
) and my amazing veggie garden.
Love

Girl, I totally get why you're finding it hard to see all those positive tests. Good for you to take a step back and focus on yourself and your fiancé.
Enjoy the wedding preparations, girl. It's going to be an amazing day
.

Yeah, it's not that I don't wish her well ;-) it's just really confronting. I feel the same with my cousin—I'm avoiding her as much as possible right now since her due date is in September and she had her baby shower last weekend. I knew she wasn't really into kids, and when I told my parents about our hospital journey, they mentioned her pregnancy. It's been really tough for me ;-) especially since we've been trying for almost two years now. It just hurts.
But I'm going to focus on nice things now
I'm not in the mood for negative stuff anymore, so I'm just letting it go
And hoping that we can tell the family at Christmas that we're expecting a little one

I completely understand you, girl. We've been trying for 4.5 years, with 2 miscarriages in between... Meanwhile, a lot of people around us got pregnant. Indeed, also people who weren't at all focused on having kids, and whose relationships have now fallen apart. It all hurts so much. I think it's really good that you're focusing on the positive. Go for it, girl! And of course, I'm cheering super hard for you guys, hoping you'll indeed get a beautiful Christmas gift.

@ Nancy, that's great that everything is going well with your pregnancy now, hopefully it stays that way. When do you have your first ultrasound?
@ meid22 I completely understand that you're taking a step back for now; it's not nothing, such a process, and seeing all those positive tests. You can only start your process after the summer.
@ ladies, I went to the gynecologist myself today, had an internal ultrasound, and everything looked good. She also took a smear test, and I'll get the results in 3 weeks. I think I'm not pregnant this round either; otherwise, she would have noticed something on the ultrasound. My period is coming on Friday, I'm curious. I wonder if she would be able to see anything so early if I were pregnant. -

By the way, I have to keep track of my temp, I'm curious, never done it before. And we're also getting a sperm analysis. -
meid22 #90
Exciting, Leentje ;-) Good luck with the tests. I kept track of my temperature and used ovulation tests for 3 months before going to the doctor, but they never asked me about it at the hospital here ;-)
Hopefully, you'll get some good news soon ;-) -

meid22 thank you! I'm also really curious what it's all going to bring us. Ah okay, I do use ovulation tests but I think they'd also like me to track my temperature. By the way, I also need to get blood drawn 3 times during my cycle. It's good that you already did that. I hope it works out for us too! And for both of us
-
meid22 #92
I only had to prick my finger for blood once at the hospital. Tracking your temperature definitely gives you insight into your cycle ;-) I could see from my temperature when my period was about to start
I stopped tracking my temperature when I knew we couldn't get pregnant naturally anyway.
A friend of mine also didn't get pregnant quickly, and when she finally went to the hospital, they just had to flush out her fallopian tubes, and the next month she was pregnant
Hopefully, it's something small like that for you too, or that everything is just fine
Good luck anyway

Hi ladies,
Unfortunately... things are going wrong again for us. Since last weekend, I've been losing old blood, and since Sunday night, I've had severe abdominal pain with occasional dark red bleeding.
I can't sit upright, and doing many things causes a lot of pain...
The tests remain very positive, which I find really strange.
This morning, our doctor called me back. -

Ah okay girl22, I have to get 3 shots this cycle. My period came today, so do I still have to get the shot on Friday? But I didn't take my temperature today because my period started in the afternoon? Since it's supposed to be the 3rd day of my menstrual cycle. I really hope it's just something minor. Thanks! And I'm curious, they also did a smear test, I'll get the results in 3 weeks.
Nancy, oh no girl, I hope it stays fine. Have you been called by your gynecologist yet? -

Yesterday I had my hcg tested at my doctor's request. To our surprise, it was super high for a 5.5 week pregnancy—it was 3000 yesterday.
Next Monday we're having an ultrasound to see if everything is okay. There's something in my abdomen producing hcg...now we just hope it's in the right place.
Even our doctor doesn't understand where the pain and bleeding are coming from.
Hopefully it's not an ectopic pregnancy. -

@Nancy how are you doing with your pregnancy? Hope everything is fine! Sorry for my late reply, I've been so busy at work lately, it's driving me a bit crazy. It's causing a lot of stress. Can't wait until we go on vacation! Counting down the days... -

Leetje, unfortunately we got the news that it's an ectopic pregnancy. Last Wednesday we were still at the ER because of severe pain.
My body is resolving it on its own, so late Wednesday night I lost quite a large blood clot..probably our baby..
Back to the hospital now for a blood test to check hCG levels and an ultrasound. Hopefully it looks okay. -

It's really hard to get news like this. -

Hi ladies, how are you? Nancy, how are you doing with your IUI or have you already started with IVF? And Meid22, how are your treatments going?
I got my results from the gynecologist last week. Everything was fine with me; I had more than enough eggs, even too many. She said she was very happy about that. Unfortunately, the news for my husband wasn't as good; his sperm count was lower, she said. You know what I found weird? She said yes, if he wants to be referred to a urologist, but he's hesitating. He did want to have his sperm checked again in 6 weeks. And also his hormones, and she asked if I wanted to have an HSG done. Then they'll see whether they'll start with IUI or IVF. I do find it odd that they don't, for example, give my husband medication first to improve his sperm quality before starting those treatments. I don't know what to do? Especially regarding his sperm. Do you have any tips or your own stories? I find it all quite scary and exciting. -

@Leentje We’re married now and started the injections at the end of our honeymoon. I got really sick from the hormones (diarrhea, fever, dizziness, and cramps).
In the end, I had 3 ultrasounds and then the puncture. It was very painful at that moment, but I recovered quickly and went back to work the next day.
They had promised me a transfer that Sunday, which they’d been telling me about for weeks, even after the puncture. But just as I was about to go, they told me I couldn’t have a transfer because there was a risk of overstimulation, and since I was still young, it would be better to wait... as if I hadn’t waited long enough already!!! I’ve been trying for 2 years now and have never had a positive test during that time. And especially that comment from a hospital staff member: “You’re still young, you have all the time.” Who does she think she is? Unbelievable.
In the end, I had 21 eggs, 11 fertilized, and 4 five-day-old embryos frozen.
Now I have to wait for 2 menstrual cycles before I can have a transfer. The first one is almost over now, so I just need to wait for one more cycle and then until day 13 of the cycle, after which I’ll wait for an ultrasound... so I hope to have a transfer in 6 weeks (finally!!)
My husband had no sperm cells in his semen, so unfortunately, I can’t give you any advice on that front.
Love,
