getting pregnant with a donor.

Hey everyone,

I'm Lilly, and we've been trying to get pregnant since July 2016. In June 2017, my partner was tested. So many samples taken, but no sperm ever found. We were then referred to a fertility clinic, where they examined both of us. Eventually, they performed a TESA on him. Result: No sperm cells. So we can only get pregnant using a donor. We're going to choose an anonymous donor. We have an appointment at the fertility clinic in early April to discuss everything. I've searched all the pages but found very little information. Are there any people here who have become pregnant via a donor or who are in the same process? I'd love to hear from you Thanks in advance!

    Hi Lilly,

I'm also pregnant via a donor. I assume you mean you want to do it with the help of a donor from a sperm bank. In the Netherlands, donors can't be completely anonymous, of course. That way, your child can later request information about the donor. My situation is a bit different, but overall, I've had good experiences with the process.

Hey Mandy! Thanks for your reply.
Yes, it’s through a sperm bank. We’re from Belgium, so no idea if there are many differences there?
Did you also have to deal with a waiting list?

As far as I know, there's no waiting list at the donor bank because I ordered through ESB. But I believe that if you want to order from a donor bank in the Netherlands, there is a waiting list. I didn't look into it further.

    Hi Lily,
    We're in the same boat...
I just had my first IUI-D done, also from Belgium
Which clinic are you going to?
Feel free to send me a PM...
