Yes, we were also unexplainedly fertile. We’ve been trying for 2.5 years. We had a laparoscopy with an HSG and then started IUI.
Warming up the uterus can sometimes lead to better fertilization. This is actually kind of what acupuncture does too—it’s supposed to improve blood circulation. A hot water bottle does the same thing.
The chance of having absolutely no children with unexplained infertility is really incredibly small, okay! So you really don’t need to assume that. -

Oh, so it's the same story here too—2.5 years, surgery, IUIs. It's so nice to read your story!
And thank you so much for the tip!! I'll definitely give it a try! Did you do it in the evening or immediately after you got home? Did you lie down for a while after the IUI? That's not really my situation, and I've read that it would be better if you did.
It feels so good to read that the chance it'll never work really isn't that small. I feel a bit reassured! I'm going to start the next round with full confidence!

Yeah, they still let you lie around a bit here.
Hot water bottle in the evening when I was relaxing on the couch, and sometimes I'd even take it to bed with me. The weather was pretty cold, so just sitting with a hot water bottle wasn't really a chore. -

No, indeed, that feels good too, so nice and warm
I'll definitely try it, thanks for the tip!
I do think it's a bit sad that they make you get up right away. Even if it's just for a minute or so
How far along are you now? Or is your baby already here? Did you notice anything before you had to go through the MS, or did you only find out because of that? -

We're 17 weeks now and everything looks good.
I never really noticed anything before my period. The only thing I found weird was having more saliva in my mouth. But yeah, that could just as well have been from all those injected hormones. So I couldn't make heads or tails of that.
Mentally, I was in a completely different place last time. I accepted more that it just was like this and that it would come. That gave a sort of calm.
The day before my insemination, I dreamed of a girl (which actually doesn't mean anything since we're expecting a boy). The day of the insemination, I already knew this would be it.
That doesn't mean at all that this feeling was justified, mind you! I can easily fool myself, and if it hadn't been, I wouldn't have been pregnant. Which, by the way, I wouldn't have minded, since I had accepted the whole situation so well.
But it'll come for you too. If not the left way, then the right way. You know that this is just how it has to be right now and that you'll do everything you can. The rest is in the hands of Fate (or the universe, or God, or whatever you believe in). It really will come! -

17 weeks, that must be amazing!
Big congratulations!!!
That little miracle will surely have nothing lacking!!
Okay, so I shouldn't focus too hard on the waiting weeks to feel something, because I already do that way too much. I always want to feel everything and look for symptoms that could indicate pregnancy. And then I'm constantly searching the internet..
I'll really try to approach it differently this time.. but I always tell myself that every time
Really, thank you again for your message, it makes me believe even harder
Super to hear such positive stories

Maybe mindfulness could help. Sounds very woo-woo, but it's not that bad.
It's more about learning that during the waiting weeks you can't change anything. It is what it is. Then you can really drive yourself crazy (I did too,
), but that's pointless because it doesn't change the situation.
I did always do an early test on myself. But only after the Pregnyl had left my body. -

Yeah, I did read about that. But I'm still going to try to not stress about it. And indeed, keep in the back of my mind that there's nothing I can do about it

Hi dreamer, how is this round going for you now with extra Clomid?
Good luck and best wishes! -

Hi Iris,
On Monday I had my fourth and final IUI. It’s nerve-wracking
I also had a talk yesterday about starting IVF next time if this doesn’t work out.
As for Clomid, it wasn’t really that great. I had a lot of trouble with my eyes. The doctor said I can’t take it anymore, and I’m glad about that
I’m hoping so hard that it works this time. But I’m trying to keep my mind off it as much as possible. I’ve even forbidden myself from looking up early symptoms online etc

Oooo, that sounds so exciting again! I hope this time it brings something beautiful and that IVF won't be needed anymore.
By the way, it's really tough that you had such a hard time with Clomid.
Probably and hopefully less discomfort with Gonal-F, which is also used in IVF.
Well, good luck with these two-week waits and definitely a good intention. Try to find plenty of distraction in fun things! -

I usually get approval from the insurance for IVF next week. No idea what I'll have to take..
The doctor also said that I'm in a risk group with a chance of overstimulation. And I think that's why he chose a certain medication. Could that be?
We'll see, right..

Hi Dromertje,
I've read your story and I'm in a similar situation. We've been trying to get pregnant for three years now. Had an HSG done. Nothing came out of it. Cycle is regular, ovulation is good, sperm is good, etc. We're unexplainedly less fertile. Meanwhile, we've had six IUI treatments that unfortunately haven't succeeded.
It's so frustrating! What could be the cause?
I'm starting the pill in December and will have my first IVF in January.
How are things with you now? -

Hi Maryam,
I haven't been on this forum for a while. It was just too much for me at the time
I've had 2 IVF cycles behind me now. The first one was in April. Unfortunately, I had ovarian hyperstimulation and spent a few days in the hospital. I've never felt so low in my life as I did then. Regarding the IVF itself: fertilization always goes incredibly well. Almost all the eggs were fertilized. Unfortunately, there was a lot of fragmentation in the embryos.. the fresh transfer failed, and there were three more in the freezer afterwards. Unfortunately, only one of them survived the thawing, and that attempt also failed.
In September, we went for the second attempt. 6 eggs were retrieved, but again, all 6 were fertilized. But on the day of the transfer on day 3, we were told that only one was good enough
Unfortunately, that fresh transfer also failed.
They were going to let the five remaining embryos grow to day 5 to see if one would recover, but the chance was small.
To my surprise, I got a call a few days later. One had completely recovered and had grown into a blastocyst of excellent quality. The best quality so far. This one is currently still in the freezer. I expect my period today after a rest cycle (hopefully they don't come
). When they do, I'll start taking Progynova again to go for that blastocyst, but I'm really afraid of the disappointment if it fails again. First of all, I'm very afraid that it won't survive the thawing..
It's getting mentally harder and harder, always that waiting, the disappointments, the chances that keep decreasing, not being able to be happy anymore for the umpteenth friend who tells you they're pregnant,...
It's so unfair and indeed, what is the problem anyway. If this fails, I'll give acupuncture another chance.. I'm at my wit's end.
How are you doing? How long have you been trying now? I hope we can both experience happiness soon...
Lots of love! -

Hi Dromertje,
Sorry for my late reply.. I've deliberately taken a break from forums etc. for the past two months.
Wow, what a heavy story.. You've had it tough. It's still strange that everything is fine and yet it keeps failing
so frustrating. I hope you've had some positive news by now.
We've been at it for three years now.. I've had six IUI treatments with hormone stimulation. Unfortunately no result. Waited a month and then took the pill for a month. Now we've started the first IVF treatment. I'm injecting 112.5 mg of Gonal F. It gives me quite a headache and I'm very tired. The Cetrotide will be added soon. I'm very anxious about the puncture. We'll see how it goes. How did you experience it?
Love! -

I have a positive story. 2 years of trying and a hospital trajectory and then it was a hit with IUI. After giving birth, I got pregnant naturally very quickly. It can really happen. Keep hope.
