Polyp on the cervix

RoosGuest ·
Hi,
I heard last week that I have a polyp on my cervix. I've been to the hospital 3 times already because of bleeding. The first time was really intense. I was so shocked. The blood just kept flowing. The next two times were luckily less severe.
I'm really unsure. The doctors at the hospital don't give much away. On one hand, they say I should take it easy. But the polyp needs to come out soon. (I'll be examined more thoroughly next week.) On the other hand, they send me home every time even though I'm really suffering. I constantly have severe menstrual-like pain in my lower abdomen and back. There's a high chance it'll start bleeding again. According to one doctor, bleeding isn't too harmful. Another doctor says that blood loss can irritate the uterus.
I hope there are people here who have experience with this and want to share.
Thanks in advance.

No experience, but some medical knowledge. The bleeding itself probably isn't that dangerous in the sense that you're unlikely to bleed to death. The reason the polyp needs to be removed is that it could be malignant or could become malignant in the future if it gets irritated too much.

You can't do more than wait for the test results and follow your doctors' advice. Strength.

Thanks for your message. I was quite worried about the bleeding. This puts me at ease a bit.
Of course, I hope it's not malignant. But for the coming months, the baby comes first. I'll see what happens after that. They're going to take a biopsy next week.
