Working mom or stay-at-home mom

For my studies in ecological pedagogy, I'm researching the impact a working vs. non-working mother can have on a child's development.

What's your take on this? What effect does it have on a child if the mother works, or if she consciously chooses to stay at home?

My opinion is that a child doesn't care less whether the mother works or not.
Why is this discussion never held about fathers? They also have an influence on upbringing. Somehow, society always assumes that raising children is for women.
I think as long as you handle it well and you're happy with it, it will positively affect your child. Whether you stay at home or work.

You're right, you can't really do much with it. You can't base your research on our experiences, which are colored by our opinions. I only see half of it because you can't be a stay-at-home mom and work at the same time, so yeah.
It seems to me that the person who spends the most time with a child has the most influence on that child. A logical conclusion, I think.
