Hi girls!
I'd like to introduce myself.
I'm a 33-year-old mom, I have two very cute boys aged 12 and 7, and for 3 years I've had an incredibly sweet stepdaughter who is 14.
Next year I'm going to marry the most wonderful man I could ever wish for!
My partner missed out on years of his daughter's life; his ex kept her away from him and he was very sad about this, but she's been living with us for a year now and my partner and I are overjoyed. We have a lovely family, my boys and his daughter, a blended family but oh so wonderful!
I always wanted young children, and that worked out! I was 21 when my oldest was born and 25 when my youngest was born, and for years that was enough for me.
But for a few months now, I've started to feel the longing. I'd really like to have a baby with my partner, one born purely out of love, growing up with a papa and mama together under one roof, something I couldn't offer my boys, and for my partner, who missed all those years with his daughter, a sort of "second chance".
But my partner was scared and kept saying he didn't want to. Now he's suddenly changed his tune! Yay!! He's really into it and we talk about it every day, letting the other kids catch a glimpse of it now and then, but I think they find it not very interesting
Now we want to move and get married first, the wedding date is already set for July, but moving is still tricky since we started our relationship with quite a bit of debt and are now slowly climbing out of it. So we can't just sell everything, we need to save up first.
But my head is spinning! I already have a name, and I'm browsing all the online shops for cute little items, and I want to shout it from the rooftops!! But I can't talk about it with my girlfriends, because my best friend is in a process with her partner because he's barely fertile, and I know it would cause her immense sadness if I get pregnant before her.
I'd rather not wait any more years, since I'm 33 and my partner is 37, we're not exactly young anymore, which is funny because I used to always be the youngest mom on the school playground
Are there more moms here with planned little ones, or blended families with yet another shared child?

Xx Sixxam!

    Hey sixxam,
welcome to brabbels. I also come from a blended family and we're all 6 years old. The youngest just turned 10 . Dad was 43 and my stepmom was 31. So even though you're not the youngest anymore, it's definitely not too late to start having kids.
    Greetings

Want wanting to get married first and possibly move before getting pregnant are things you can control, and good reasons to wait. But as unpleasant as it may be for your girlfriend, the fact that she's having trouble conceiving isn't a good reason for you to hold off. What if she never succeeds? Does that mean you should never get pregnant either? Of course, it'll sting for her at first, but remember that a good friend will also be happy for you. Good luck with your little family and your future together.

    hey,
I totally get you. We have two beautiful kids here together, a boy and a girl, now 8 and 6 years old. Last month, we were unexpectedly pregnant with a third due to issues with the pill I was taking. We were completely shocked but also very happy. I was 5 weeks along when suddenly I started bleeding, and yes, it was over in an instant. But we immediately decided to try again for a third child. We both really, really want this, and hopefully, it’ll happen soon. Hehe.
