A must-have for newborns?

I'll soon be a mom to my third little one. I'm considering buying a baby carrier to use from birth. Can anyone recommend one? For my first child, I bought a wrap but barely used it. I found it mostly complicated... Thanks in advance!

    Hi Eveline,

Check out the Snoozebaby baby carrier, you can find it here https://www.nieuwekinderkamer.nl/Kiss-Carry

Thanks for your reply! Have you tried the Kiss Carry baby carrier? What did you think of it?

I have the Mei Tai Deluxe by ByKay. You can use it in different ways from 0 to about 4 years old (depends on the weight). It's a nice baby carrier if you find tying knots complicated.

Hi hi, I also chose a baby carrier instead of a wrap because I just couldn't figure it out at all. I went for the Ergobaby Original. This one can be worn on the belly, back, and hip. But I think I'll only use the belly carry for now, and I'm really enjoying it. There are 3 settings for newborns, older babies, and toddlers, according to me. You can adjust it, and there's a wind and rain hood in the pouch. My little one is really comfortable in it. I thought it was quite expensive, but for me, it was totally worth it. I walk the dog twice a day and then put the baby in the carrier. He had severe reflux, so a carrier was ideal.

Hi 'Anonymous', I've indeed read a bit about the 'mei tai' (or Chinese carrier) and I think it could be a good solution. Have you used it yourself, even from your baby's birth? Did you get comfortable with it quickly?

Yes, I used him a lot from birth and I still use him now and then. My daughter is already 1 and would rather crawl than hang on mom. But I found him especially handy when I wanted to do something around the house and she was restless, or when I went shopping. Then I could at least use a shopping cart without it being full with a Maxi-Cosi. You can bring a lot more groceries. With the Mai Tai there's a very nice booklet with clear instructions, but let yourself be advised in the store. It's always nice if you've seen it out of the box, but that's the case with all baby carriers/slings. You also test a stroller in the store before you buy it, right?

Thanks for the super tips, 'Anon'. I found a shop near Brussels where a consultant is available for advice and explanation :-) She can help well with both alternatives: baby wrap and 'mei tai'. Workshop already booked ;-)
