Losing weight
Overweight

Just because I like having a place to share my story... I do that here.
I also have excess weight and even though I knew this was the case, I was really shocked last week at the midwife's office. The 12-week intake. My boyfriend came along with his daughter, because she is very curious about her new brother or sister.
Although I've always been busy with my weight and there are periods where I avoid the scale. Why? Because I'm not ready for it or something. I knew that since I was pregnant, I wanted to keep my weight in check and also had to weigh myself at the midwife's office. So from about 6 weeks pregnant I started keeping track of my weight and on our scale it was 80 kilos (too much for a height of 1.67, but I knew that was the case and could accept it). At the midwife's with clothes on that thing (then you know it's more), it came out to 86.5 kilos. Still a shock moment... And then you have to say it out loud, which was also in front of my boyfriend's daughter. After the visit to the midwife I immediately bought a new scale and tsjaa... ours was just not working properly (naked 84.5 kilos at home).
Anyway.... felt really rotten for a moment. Especially when it turns out that you then have a BMI of over 30 and therefore get extra tests.
Although I was already determined during my pregnancy not to gain too much weight, with the goal to get back under my starting weight quickly after giving birth. This has given me a kind of motivation to do even more here right away. As a result, I now follow my weight very obsessively. Every day on the scale, measuring circumference, etc. It seems to be having an effect.. at the moment 83 kilos. That means 1 to 1.5 kilos under my starting weight. Now 13 weeks pregnant. I make sure I get the necessary nutrients, so don't expect the baby to suffer from it.. But yes, there will come a moment when kilos are added, although my goal is that this will not be before the next check-up (in 3.5 weeks).
Especially because I like having a place to share this, I've written this down. Maybe there are ladies with a similar situation who want to share their story. Do they have tips. Everything is welcome.
It's not something I openly talk about every day, but maybe through a forum nice conversations will start.
