Hi,
I just had my first IUI last month, and my period is due tomorrow or the day after, but I already have some period-like cramps now, so it’ll probably come tomorrow. Then on to round two. Exciting, right?!

I hope your period doesn't come! Definitely super exciting.

    Hi!
Unfortunately, I got my period on Saturday night. Now I start Gonal-F tomorrow, and next Tuesday I have a follicle measurement! Yes, super exciting. When is your NOD? And how is your husband's sperm? Did you have a LEO treatment?
I didn't get any notification, so I only just saw your message.

Okay, that's annoying. Why don't you trust me, if I may ask?

I had one IUI and it was successful, even with just one egg. So it can happen.

    Hey Daydreamer

We also had IUI once and got pregnant right away. So it really can happen, even though I didn't believe much in it beforehand. It's all so hard to predict, right... If only we could look into a crystal ball...
    Good luck!!

We’ve already had our first IUI on October 12nd..now just waiting and hoping, and thank you so much for the replies! It gives me a little bit of hope again.

Good luck, daydreamer!! Hopefully, in 2 weeks, a positive result...

I just got my period. I have my HSG on Wednesday, October 25th, and I need to start taking Clomid on cycle day 3 to prepare for our first IUI. We still need to schedule an appointment for my ultrasound and learn how to inject myself with Pregnyl... I really hoped this cycle would be the one... and I had so much confidence after seeing my egg—ready to pop
Since my boyfriend has to start a 4.5-month training program in January 2018 (military), we’re hoping the IUI succeeds quickly... otherwise, the whole process is going to become really tough

    Hi Marie

    Good luck with it, girl!
I was also dreading starting IUI. I used to lie crying on that bed, just overwhelmed by emotions because physically I felt nothing.
We never expected it, but it worked the first time! So it really can happen... don't lose hope.
Unfortunately, it didn't work out for us again, but that has nothing to do with the IUI. (Bad luck...)
    Good luck!!!

Thank you, Annesje... I find it really exciting. Starting with Clomid and Pregnyl injections.. while I'm 'just' (very grateful for) healthy and everything works as it should... it feels so weird. One day I'm very optimistic and full of confidence.. today is day 1, of the cycle in which we're going to do our first (and hopefully also last) IUI, I'm mainly sad - hurt - disappointed and especially insecure. Besides the physical impact it has, the whole process causes an emotional roller-coaster for me (and also for others). For 2.5 years I've been optimistic and trusted my body and my partner's.. now I have to trust doctors and medication. Giving up even more control...
    I'm going through it all...

It's an emotional rollercoaster... I can still get angry, sad, and frustrated about it every day. And I still go to the hospital each time with reluctance for yet another check-up. Never expected this would happen to us, why do you think... On the other hand, I'm glad these treatments are available; otherwise, our chances of having a child would be very slim. I've had 6 rounds of Clomid + Pregnyl, one of which succeeded (the first one too), but ended in a miscarriage. Then a first IUI round, and now I hope to start a new round soon. First, I need to wait for my period.

Pfff, tell me about it! I mainly had a dip when we’d been at it for a year. My boyfriend mostly blamed me for everything (he doesn’t have such a high libido). I’ve gotten over that now and have to say I was still optimistic last week about the medical journey – I often look at things from the positive side and have a lot of faith in medical science. I have to say I didn’t go to the hospital with any reluctance – I was really happy to get check-ups and know that we’re getting professional help now instead of having to ‘figure it out ourselves’. Indeed, I’m glad these treatments exist, but I had hoped so much that we wouldn’t need them. But the cliché... having children isn’t a given. We’re keeping our hopes up, but it’s not exactly fun.

It's good that you're starting off so optimistically. I can learn a lot from that.
Don't get me wrong, I'm also happy with the good follow-up and that we know when the right moment is. But I can't count on two hands anymore the times I've sat waiting in the hospital, and that really stings at times, I have to say. Especially because it's always before working hours. With IUI during working hours, so always a hassle, but whatever... I'm willing to do it, of course!
Don't give up hope, indeed... as hard as it is because right now I only see the black side of things.
But we're going for it!! On to the next IUI!

Oh you know... you're allowed to have your dips, I accept that I have mine too, but I try to make the best of it and keep reminding myself that everything I'm doing is for the ultimate goal of getting a baby. I really do understand that you sometimes feel overwhelmed by it all, some more than others... I can totally imagine that with the setbacks you're facing right now, things are a bit different for you. And of course you're allowed to feel sad or angry about it, those feelings are completely valid... Waiting is the most frustrating part - especially when you want something so badly! Dear Annesje, keep in mind that despite not having a child yet, life goes on and you should enjoy the moment and the times you still have just the two of you. We're still doing as much as we can that we won't be able to do with kids later on

Fortunately, my manager has been aware of our desire for a child from the beginning and is very flexible about it. I'm working from home today - yesterday was my NOD and I knew if I were to test, it would be today, and if I ended up getting my period, I'd rather be at home today anyway. The thing is... I'm super distracted right now... haven't been able to work properly because I've been constantly googling... The bleeding has stopped again... so I only found blood on my pad this morning.. now just a little spotting again. I don't even know what cycle day 1 is for me anymore... maybe I should just go ahead and test tomorrow morning.
