I'm 28 Florien! But is your coil out by now and how are things going?
  2. Florien #22

Okay, nice age!! No, I’m only going to get it removed in April 2018... That works out best for my studies.
It’s funny because when I got the IUD inserted, I was quite shocked by the pain, and I was already dreading getting it taken out. But now it doesn’t bother me at all, and I’m actually looking forward to it. Haha!

    Hi etil,
did it go okay removing the coil?
I stopped the pill myself in May. After 2 months I got my period regularly every 28 days, and last month it was after 32 days. I try not to think too much about it, but it's still quite exciting, you know
I hope you get pregnant soon, greetings Joyce

    Hi Joyce.
I myself didn’t find it at all bad to have the IUD removed. I only felt it for a moment when the doctor “closed” the IUD, but otherwise nothing special.
  5. Merel #25

Oh, I was curious about that too! Seems pretty painful to me when they put it in, must go through a tiny hole! Do they actually place it at a specific time in the cycle?
  6. Joyce♡ #26

    Oh, what a relief...
I just did an ovulation test, two clear lines!
I’ve never done one before, but my boyfriend brought the wrong tests. So I’m using these now...
  7. Merel #27

Hihi, you wanted pregnancy tests? Men...
  8. Florien #28

Hey Debstar, good to hear that you found the pain manageable when it was removed! I'm curious.

Hi Merel Yes, the IUD is inserted during your period :x They go right to your cervix, and that's where most of the pain comes from, since nothing's ever been there before unless you've already given birth! Anyway, I'd recommend not going alone, so your partner can drive you back. But overall, I'm really happy with my IUD, so it was definitely worth it!!
  9. D.L. #29

Just like Florien said: with me, it was placed on the 2nd day of my period because the cervix is already a bit open then. The clamp they put on my cervix was the most painful part. As my husband jokingly said: they gave me an internal piercing! But a friend of mine also went for the IUD and she said she felt the IUD opening up the most, and not the clamp. I had the exact opposite experience. So I guess it really varies from person to person.

    Indeed, Merel! Men..

    Haha

Have you guys had experience with ovulation tests?
  11. Merel #31

Okay! Thanks for the info, girls! For now, I'm breastfeeding so the chance of pregnancy is small. And we'd actually like to have a second one if it's meant to be, so we're using condoms for now.

How are you doing since we're here to try for a little one?
  12. CJB86 #32

I had the first one replaced after 5 years and the second one removed after 3 years because I wanted to have kids (this was in February this year). Exactly half a year later, I'm now pregnant. I also had it removed during my period, which got my cycle back on track right away. That doesn't work for everyone though.

And well, the insertion... I took two paracetamol pills and tried to relax as much as I could. Definitely have someone drive you afterwards. Then spend an evening/day on the couch with some tea and a hot water bottle, and it gets better. So yes, a fairly success story
  13. D.L. #33

I'm still waiting for a positive test. I should be around my fertile days now, but the ovulation test isn't showing anything yet. We're keeping our fingers crossed!
  14. Merel #34

CJB, that sounds appealing! Good to remember and how nice that you're pregnant! Is everything okay?

Exciting, Deb! Which tests are you using?
  15. CJB86 #35

Thanks, Merel! Yes, it's going well so far... It just takes so long until the first appointment and the second ultrasound!

    Good luck to you both!
  16. D.L. #36

    Merel,
I use the one from Clearblue where, if you've hit your fertile LH peak, you see a smiley on the stick
Strangely enough, I'm testing every day now... but no smiley appears... Maybe a late ovulation? I don't feel it anyway, and according to the app, my fertile days are already over.
  17. Merel #37

DL, have you found your egg yet? And don't you feel anything else in your body? I always have little pops in my belly and the discharge really changes. That's how I always notice it, and then the test confirms it!
  18. D.L. #38

    Hi Merel,
No, haven't found an egg yet. I've also stopped testing for now until after my upcoming period next week. After that, I'll try testing earlier. And no, I don't feel the ovulation itself. I do feel some little stabs and cramps in my lower abdomen these last few days.. no idea what that could be?
  19. Merel #39

I have no idea either! Maybe it's the one?
  20. D.L. #40

That would be nice! But strangely enough, I don't feel it. I'm also coming down with a cold right now... I don't feel nauseous or anything. I'll just wait and see.
