Trying to conceive baby #2
GerryGuest ·
Hi everyone,
I just want to get this off my chest. I'm feeling really sad right now.
After a nice pregnancy and a healthy daughter who's 3.5 years old, my husband and I have been trying for a brother/sister for over 2.5 years. The first pregnancy came naturally, and now we're on our 6th IUI attempt, unfortunately without success. Sometimes I get the feeling that this is it, no second child. I'm so happy with our daughter, but I really hope for a brother/sister.
My husband and I both don't have any siblings, so our desire for another child might be even stronger. In another half year, my daughter will start school, which is great and fun for her, but the thought already makes me sad. It feels like letting go has begun, and I had hoped to have another little one at home by then. Every month brings disappointment, and it's starting to wear me down. Outwardly everything seems fine, but inside...
We're going to start IVF, but I'm feeling scared. What will this do to my mood, my feelings (hormones)? Can I handle it? Am I ready for this? On one hand, I'd love to start tomorrow; on the other, I'd rather put it off. Where does this feeling come from, even though I want it so badly?
What do I want with this message? No idea, just wanted to get it off my chest. Hopefully, I'll feel a bit better soon, the sadness will fade into the background, and I can laugh again, even if it's through my tears.
