Different than expected

Hi mamas!
I’m a mom of a beautiful one-year-old daughter with a bushy head of curly hair. Her dad is dark-skinned, and I’m a bit lighter, and we both have South American backgrounds. Our daughter looks different from what people expect because she’s very fair-skinned and has reddish curly hair. When strangers see the combination of dad and daughter, they sometimes suggest that she might be half-blood. With the mom-daughter combo, no one says anything. I was wondering if other moms recognize this and whether it changed a lot for your kids as they got older—did it get less or more?
