Spiral removed, pregnant after that?

Hi everyone!
I'm kind of pacing around nervously here. I had my IUD removed two and a half weeks ago. My partner and I really want a baby, but my gynecologist wouldn't remove it until 8 months later! So the hospital's secretariat suggested I go to another gyn, and I called the very next day! We had planned to start trying in August (I also needed a breast exam beforehand because I might have hereditary malignant cells). So that was the plan: condom until August... Wednesday the IUD came out, Saturday very light pink bleeding... Ok, period immediately, great! Then I could start calculating! But the following days, nothing more! Now since yesterday, some brown discharge again, and for a week now serious symptoms: nausea, sore breasts, moody, cheerful, stomach pain, cramps, the whole shebang... I thought my hormones were completely out of control, until my gyn said yesterday (because if I called half-panicked, she could suddenly see me the same day): it's quite possible you're pregnant! How so, I asked? Well, you weren't protected before the removal, and you should have taken extra precautions up to a week before, if your ovulation happened during the days of removal, you're probably pregnant... I got a paper to do a blood test within 2(!) weeks.. (earlier wasn't possible because it was too early). Meanwhile, 6 pregnancy tests later, all negative. Can someone help me out? What's all this? I'm going crazy (and I fear my partner is too, with my constant questioning). We planned to start in August, if it's earlier, that's fine too... but why can't I test until 2 weeks from now? If I already have brown discharge (implantation bleeding?) now? Thanks in advance!

I don't know if you're pregnant, of course... But if you're having brown discharge and your levels are low right now, maybe you don't have enough hormones yet to measure?

Thanks in advance for your reply!
Yeah, that could indeed be the case... but I've seen that ovulation must have happened in that week anyway (sperm live about 5 days). But then implantation should have happened more than a week ago, and hCG production should have started by then?
