Pregnant and coughing badly

I'm 16 weeks pregnant now and have a bad cough. It's been going on for a while. It's an irritating cough, but really annoying. At the pharmacy, I got thyme lozenges and saline solution to rinse my nose. But it doesn't help at all. I'm not sure if it's worth going to the doctor since I can't take anything. Of course, I'm worried about the baby...
Any tips or advice?

    Hi Haasje,
It's definitely wise to see the doctor. During my second pregnancy, I also had a tickly cough at first, but it turned into extreme shortness of breath, etc. Those coughing fits are really bad for the baby. So it's really good to check with your GP what you can safely take to help reduce the coughing. It might sound strange, but ventilating your home and bedroom thoroughly is very helpful.

Recognizable cough since 20 weeks pregnant and now 38+4. I've already had 2 rounds of antibiotics and a puffer and a cough syrup. The GP can't do anything more for me now, only after giving birth again. I also have to wear pads due to urine loss from coughing.

    Thanks for your replies.
I've been to the doctor and got Bronchosedal syrup. I also called the maternity ward and they recommend it too.
I also had some urine leakage when I coughed or sneezed while walking. Now I stand still first
