Hi everyone,
I only found out 2 days ago that I'm pregnant.
And this right after my boyfriend and I had decided to wait.
I still have to get used to the idea, because lately I hadn't wanted or hoped for it that much anymore.
I'm very happy about my pregnancy but also completely overwhelmed.

I still have stomach cramps like I'm about to get my period, and that makes it pretty hard to believe I'm pregnant.
I also feel a bit guilty, my sister just had hers and had so much trouble getting pregnant every time, and I got it 'by accident' now.
It is exciting though, a first pregnancy. Anyone got any tips?

Go ahead and enjoy it, and don't feel bad about it. You can't do anything about your sister, and she's probably happy for you anyway.

Congratulations! It does feel overwhelming... and those cramps are very normal in the beginning. Everything in your body is preparing for a pregnancy. It was like that for me too.
I myself became pregnant quite unexpectedly with a fourth child, which was completely unplanned. Especially considering my age. I'm already 39 and don't want to be a 'very old' mother. I already have a 16-year-old daughter and we're like two besties. She keeps me young and helps me stay up to date with all the gadgets and younger slang... I hope to be a pretty cool mom to my youngest daughter.
I can totally understand how you feel. That's why it's good that a pregnancy lasts 9 months... your feelings and "looking forward to it" grow along with your changing body, even your inner self...
    How does your partner react...?
Heartfelt congratulations and slowly you'll start to enjoy it!
The baby was definitely meant for you two!

    Hi there,
    Thanks for your reply.
My boyfriend is reacting well to it. It’s a big wish for both of us, but we felt it was actually still too early. We’re still dealing with a house with my ex that we wanted to sell first. And we want/need to move ourselves.
So the timing could’ve been better. That’s also why we decided to wait a bit longer. I had just gotten rid of my IUD, which I’d had a lot of trouble with. And I was going to start the pill again. But my gut feeling said to wait until I got my period, and that turned out to be a good thing. Because I didn’t get it anymore, haha.

Yeah, when you don’t expect it, so much comes at you at once, right... Like, hopefully everything will be fine now that I didn’t start with folic acid beforehand, or indeed how and when do you tell everyone?

How far along are you now? And have you told your daughter (and other kids) already?
