Doesn't feel too Arabic to me. I do think it's a beautiful name.

I think Yessin is a beautiful name. My heart breaks a little because you feel like you have to take the mood in the country into account. I understand that, but it does make me a bit sad too.

By the way, I think many Arabic names are gorgeous, and I could have picked one so easily (even without an Arabic background).

I really do think Yessin is beautiful, but to give you an honest answer: I do associate it with someone of Arabic background. Which, for me, is totally no issue at all.

I can't really give you advice either, because I understand your considerations well. Plus, I also know how important it can be to feel like you belong to your 'clan' (where a name can help).

If you both think Yessin is beautiful, I'd go for it (okay, a tiny bit of advice haha).

From the bottom of my heart, I wish you all the best, and I hope this phase is very temporary, so that we can look back on it later with the knowledge that we, as a society, came out of it together. And that your children—whatever choice you make—will be happy with their names.

Sending you lots of love! And know that there are many people who look further and believe in connection.

What a sweet response. I also find it really sad that people have to think about things in that way.. it shouldn't matter what name or background someone has.. for us, everyone is equal.. unfortunately, that's not really the case in this world anymore.. but luckily there are still a lot of people who think the same way?

I (from that earlier extended anonymous reply) definitely believe there are many people who, like you, believe that everyone is equal. Maybe it's best to surround yourself with those people and look at the world with as many positive feelings as possible. And wish all the others the best in your thoughts, but otherwise just let them be. That way, at least, you can keep your own world as okay as possible.

You're absolutely right about that. It's so confronting with the news and everything that's going on.
It would be nice if people respected each other more, even if they're different. And besides, people often have something to say about you anyway, whether you're Arab or not. Hopefully, things will change with time.
We're just going for the name we like and are going to enjoy it thoroughly????

Just one more confirmation : )
I think Yessin is a beautiful, cheerful name. It would indeed work perfectly (as I understand from your reply)! I also associate this name with someone of Arab background, but that's no objection for me either. I'll join in with the previous comments. Enjoy it!
