Thank you! I certainly will. And you guys are busy, right? It's exciting too, all that waiting! It helps that I have a 3-year-old running around, but those weeks really felt long. I have my first ultrasound next month. -

Yes, we've been at it for half a year now
It's really exciting, but the waiting is just awful! With a 3-year-old, you do get plenty of distraction haha!
I imagine the first ultrasound is super exciting! Hope it'll be soon for you! -
Talitha #4
A couple of weeks is nothing compared to six months. I hope the waiting ends soon for you both! Wishing you all the best! -

This has been on my mind for the past few hours. I’m really sneaky and want to share the good news with my family and friends already!
but I’m only in week 4. Maybe a bit too early? I’m just so happy! -
lillyyy started this #6
I hope so too!!
And yeah, I understand that! I’d probably find it hard to keep quiet too! There are quite a few people who tell the closest family first and only later to the rest
-
Talitha #7
Yeah, that's right. But I talked about it with my boyfriend last night, and he'd rather we wait a bit before telling. So I just have to be patient for now.

I'm 5 weeks pregnant with baby #2.
With the first one, we told the family and a few friends right away, but this time I'm trying to wait until after the first ultrasound... but ohhh, it's so hard.. hahaha -
Talitha #9
Yeah, it's really tough! >.<
I've been dealing with it all the time and can't even properly share it with my surroundings.. meh
And do you have a boy or a girl? How old is she/he already? When are you going to share the good news with your little one? -

Sil85 #10
Hang in there... easier said than done, I know.
We have a son from October 2014, so about a 3-year age gap.
Have you had any contact with the VK practice yet? -
Talitha #11
I also have a son, Milan.
December 30, 2013. So almost a 4-year age gap.
Seems wonderful to see. Little rascal with a big brother!
And I called the midwife yesterday. She asked for the necessary info to register me, and we already scheduled two appointments for next month. For the 8-week ultrasound and the 10-week intake consultation.
And I also signed up for 'mothers for mothers'.
Are you going to do that too? -
S
Sil85 #12
Sounds so lovely to me, my little boy as a big brother.. He's already so crazy about babies.
I haven't called the midwife yet, I'll do that next week.. With my son I had an ultrasound at 8 and 12 weeks.. Saw on the site that they schedule the first appointment at 10 weeks... have to wait even longer.
I'm a bit hesitant about Moeder voor Moeders, it's not that I don't want to... I participated fully for 10 weeks with my son. But we're trying to keep the pregnancy quiet for now and if I participate I'm afraid it'll become known sooner... my husband's brother lives around the corner, has contact with our neighbors etc.. those bottles at the door will definitely stand out.. so I find it a bit difficult.
How old are you? And do you work?? -
Talitha #13
Yeah, that'll definitely stand out. I haven't really thought about it yet. Hehe
And I'm 28.
Haven't had a paid job for a few years now. When I had just started a course for a few months, I got pregnant. Took a 4-month break and then finished school and internship with the help of my parents (due to childcare). Still did a lot of volunteer work for my municipality and care organizations.
But last year I slowed down. I do want to pick it up again, otherwise I'll have such a big gap on my CV. No one's going to just hire a 28-year-old inflexible mom who can only work part-time and has been home for a few years now.
Two incomes would also be a disadvantage for us right now. Plus I'm so happy that I can just be home for Milan and the future little one.
How about you? Do you also have the luxury of staying home for your little one? -
S
Sil85 #14
I don't have the luxury of staying home, but I also have to say that it wouldn't be good for me either... I love spending time with my little guy, but I also feel good about being useful... I work 3 days a week in disability care. My man goes to daycare 2 days a week, and grandma looks after him 1 day a week... I felt really guilty at first, but luckily he's having a great time and loves playing with the other kids... so it's all good.
Do you have any health issues or something? -
Talitha #15
Yeah, that’s indeed useful work! Sometimes it’s pretty intense too. And I totally get what you mean. That’s why I do volunteer work. Just something different.
And you don’t need to feel guilty about it. External influences are also very good for them. Milan will be going to preschool for 4 half-days starting next week, due to extra support for his language development. And seeing how much fun he has there, I do it with a clear conscience. (Also once a week to the speech therapist) so I can do some extra volunteer work again. If they allow it.. due to the pregnancy
;
And I do have some ailments, but nothing extreme.
Lower back pain if I sit or lie too long.
Occasional cramps in the lower abdomen.
Better sense of smell (not nice when boyfriend goes to the toilet in the morning.)
Lots of dreams at night making it harder to get up, and I’m already a half-asleep zombie halfway through the day.
Last pregnancy I didn’t have any nausea or vomiting. So hoping it’s the same this time.
And you? Any ailments? And how old are you? -

I'm 31..Olde toeke..;-)
I'm soooo tired, getting occasional back pain, and I notice I can't handle things at work as well as before, getting irritated faster...haha. And sleep isn't going so smoothly either; I'm a belly sleeper and that doesn't work out every night. In my last pregnancy, I only had fatigue for the first 14 weeks, nothing else...so I should pinch myself in the hands..
Is your son lagging behind in speech? -

Hi girls, congratulations on your pregnancies!
I'm 5 weeks pregnant with our first baby. We're over the moon after trying for eight months. Unfortunately, it didn't work out last May. I'm feeling really anxious right now and scared to see any 'red' every time I go to the toilet. Every little cramp makes me so unsure! Otherwise, I'm feeling pretty good.. occasional waves of nausea and quite tired, but that's all. I'd love to tell everyone, haha! It's so hard keeping this news to yourself!! We've decided to tell people around 12 weeks. Then I hope I'll feel more confident myself... Just a bit more patience! I really enjoy chatting with other pregnant women here...! When are your due dates approximately? According to my own calculation, it's around October 11th. In two weeks, we're having our first scan.... I'm excited to see what we'll see! -

Hi Jennifer,
That's really tough to go through a miscarriage. Did you guys manage to give it a proper send-off?
Glad that the symptoms are manageable for you too.
We're planning to announce it after the first ultrasound; I don't think I could keep it quiet any longer... hahaha
As for me, I'll be at 12 weeks on October 12th.
And of course, congratulations on your pregnancy! -
Talitha #19
Olde toeke, she says. Not much difference from my age either.
And we've been lucky. I hear so many doom stories about the first weeks.
And yes, he's a bit behind. But he's getting a push in the right direction from all sides. It's going to be fine.
And hello Jennifer! Thank you and congratulations to you too! And I'm really glad I can talk about it with someone! If I calculated it right, my due date is around the end of October.
March 10th is the first ultrasound! -

Hi everyone!
Just tested positive and want to share it with you all, it feels quite overwhelming.
I'm 28, been in a relationship for over 10 years, and conversations about kids only recently came up (or rather, serious talks). Since April 2016, I stopped taking the pill due to side effects, and we did our best to prevent pregnancy (condoms and Natural Cycles app) because kids are welcome (even if unplanned). Recently, the condom broke, and we didn't take any further action (like Plan B or something similar) since we thought the chances weren't that high.
But now here I am, holding a positive test...
