Weird, right? A false positive doesn't really happen. You're more likely to get a negative test than a positive one if something's off. Is the screen still intact, or did it maybe fall/get damaged? Yeah, I'd suggest trying again on Wednesday if it still hasn't shown up. Maybe even with a cheaper test.

False positives are actually more common than you'd think. And according to my GP, there can be many reasons for that.

For example, the baby might have been lost quite early on. Before I was actually pregnant, I had two false positive tests. What that basically means is that something was indeed happening, but it didn't take hold, and you tested just a little too early with a sensitive test. That's also why GPs often advise waiting a few days. So early on, all sorts of things can still happen. When I found out I was actually pregnant, I waited over a week before testing. My husband wasn't around and wanted to wait until he was there.

My advice would be: wait at least until you're 4 or 5 days late. It saves you a lot of disappointment.

    Good luck????

    Good luck!!!

The question marks were a four-leaf clover, but he doesn't seem to pick it up

So it's not false, just went wrong... There can NEVER be a line if there's absolutely nothing wrong.

Just wait a bit, sweetie, I'm curious.

I'm afraid this is an evaporation line. The vertical line isn't blue either, which it should be... really annoying and confusing, but nothing you can do about it. I've had that happen twice, once with a Clearblue 2v5 test and once with an Action test.

@kruimel: that dash came after 3 to 4 minutes, so I took these photos right away.

I had that back then too, and was absolutely 100% not pregnant, and not even early pregnant either.. I think there's just something wrong with the test, and that's why it shows this line.

No home test can compare to the blood tests from the GP. Maybe there was something there, but it was already 'gone' by the time you did the blood test. That explains this line, the negative GP test, and the fact that you're overdue.

Who knows, maybe a miracle will happen and you'll turn out to have a weird body/hormone balance, but for now I think you should just wait until/if your period actually comes through

    Good luck and stay strong.

    Hey everyone,
I went to the doctor today, and she told me that the previous blood test was done too early. I still haven't gotten my period. So another blood test was done. I'll know more on Wednesday.

    What happened in the end?
  12. Kaylee Guest #32

And? Was it positive in the end? I took a test today and it looked exactly like that! Also a very faint vertical line (same test).

I'm not a fan of the CB Plus tests myself, since they always show a positive result for me even when I'm not pregnant. I tried four CB tests last month. I really hope your blood test comes back positive!!

oh old topic I see now
  15. Mamskiee Guest #35

I think I might be wrong, but do you guys see a little plus sign too?
No idea what to make of this...
I'm 2 days overdue and did the top one yesterday and the bottom one this morning...
Curious to see what you all see, ladies..

I’d take a different test. It’s really vague. And not blue (in the photo). Plus, you’re already two days late. It should be clearer by then. Unless you miscalculated or your hCG is rising slowly. So it could go either way. Good luck!

Clearblue always shows a faint line, even when negative. It looks negative based on all the photos that come in on the forum (avg. 3 per week, most of which are negative). Try another brand and wait 48 hours. Good luck!

I don't really understand why these tests are still allowed to be sold?! Mostly they test 'positive' while it's mostly negative unfortunately.

Maybe it's late, but don't let yourself get eaten alive by the reactions on forums like this.
A line is a line; I had exactly his test and looked up online what people were saying about it.
The test is only 1% off.
I took a digital test two days later because I got insecure from these kinds of forums, but it clearly said that I am indeed pregnant!
Keep up the courage for all the women who are still looking for answers here!

Well, you don't really need to search forums, and if you wait two days, there's usually clarity. Isn't it nice to help each other out with experiences though? We all wish the best for each other
