Loss of amniotic fluid?

Hi everyone,
Just a quick question.
I'm currently 23 weeks pregnant and was just at the toilet when I thought I was done, but then suddenly I lost a small amount of fluid. My question is, was this amniotic fluid or urine? And should I be worried about this now? I still feel the baby moving well and don't have any pain or discomfort.
Thanks in advance.

Amniotic fluid smells sweet. If you're worried that you might be losing it, you should contact your midwife. They can check you or refer you if necessary. Better to call for no reason than to wait too long if something actually is wrong. It also gives you peace of mind about what's going on. We can't possibly tell from here whether it's urine or amniotic fluid—it could be either.

I didn't really think it smelled sweet on Friday. On Friday I have to go for a check-up and also bring a urine sample. I think I'll call today just to be safe. The night went well and I'm not losing any fluid anymore, not even after urinating.

Hopefully, nothing's wrong, but your midwife would also prefer that you reach out if you feel like something might be off. Wishing you a wonderful pregnancy!
