Clomid

Olien
Hi there,

First time I took Clomid 50 mg for 5 days. Unfortunately, my period came more than a week early (18/11).

Apparently, I was supposed to restart Clomid on day 3 of my period, but I didn’t know that. I only went back to the gynecologist 6 days later. On day 6 (24/11), I started taking Clomid 100 mg for 5 days...

Now I don’t know when my ovulation will be approximately. Could someone help me out?

The gynecologist? They need to monitor your cycle.

Hey! Shouldn't you be doing follicle monitoring??
  3. Olien started this #4

    Debbz

No, I don't want to go for a follicle scan.
  4. Debbz #5

That's a shame, otherwise your gynecologist could keep an eye on this for you.. it's strange that you don't have to go, because Clomid can cause overstimulation..

    hey joliendobby
I don't need an ultrasound either.
I'm also taking Clomid 50 mg, round two now.
Last month I took it for the first time, and 7 days after starting the 5-day Clomid course, I ovulated.
Now it's been a week again, and my ovulation is coming up this weekend.
I'll be doing ovulation predictor tests then.
How long have you been taking Clomid?
  6. Debbz #7

I still find the ultrasounds weird.. I also started with Clomid, and with my first follicle measurement it turned out I had 13 eggs ready to go.. so overstimulation.. + after the round when my period comes back I also need to have a check-up because Clomid can cause cysts..
Today I get my Pregnyl injection, so tomorrow I'll have my ovulation.. exciting!
Are you guys getting the Pregnyl injection too?
    Greetings!

    Good morning ladies,

To shorten my cycle, I also started taking Clomid 50 mg. On day 9, I had an ultrasound and there was a follicle of 7mm. Today I had another scan, and yes, there were two: one measuring 13.5mm and another 15mm, both in my left ovary. I was told to have intercourse every other day, and next Friday (cycle day 16) I have a morning ultrasound to see if the eggs are still there or have ruptured. They will probably do a blood test a week later.

I'm actually quite curious to hear from more girls with positive Clomid stories.

    Hey Kelsii65,

Clomid didn't work out so well for me... I responded well to Clomid in terms of the number of eggs, but it had a negative impact on my cervical mucus.. it kept staying too thin.. now I'm on my second round of Puregon..

How are things going for you? Because I see that it's been a month since you posted your message..

    Best,

    Debbie

    Hi debbz,
Yeah, everything's fine with the Clomid side effects, but I'm responding well to it.
    On Friday, both eggs ruptured,
and I also had a really good progesterone level, so everything's going super well. Unfortunately, no pregnancy this time!
Now round 2 with Clomid, and my ovulation is tomorrow.
So I'm curious how it'll go this month.
But we'll see, okay? So Puregon works for you, so yeah, I'll cheer for you. I'm curious too.

    It's all so exciting, right?

    Hey kelsii66,

Good luck! I just got my Pregnyl injection, so my ovulation is coming up too... I'll need to take extra medication starting from Tuesday.. hopefully it works this time..
How long have you been trying to get pregnant?

    X.

    Hey debbz

Ooh, it's so tense, I'm cheering for you!
And hope you get a positive test this round and that your egg gets fertilized! I've been trying for a bit over a year and a half now with my boyfriend, everything is fine but it's so frustrating when it doesn't work. This is the second round of Clomid, but I've really switched off that mental switch and stopped paying so much attention. I've had a few drinks and haven't been obsessing over it. I have to say, I feel much less stressed after always being so focused on getting pregnant.
If I count correctly, my period should start on May 29th. And you?
  12. Debbz #13

    Hey kelsii65!

And, hopefully you haven't gotten your period?! O.O
Well, since I'm so irregular, I don't know when I should be getting my period.. if I take the same cycle length as last time, I should be getting my period tomorrow.. so I'll wait until Friday and then do a test.. hopefully it'll finally work this time.. because I'm starting to quietly wonder what goes wrong each time.. I went to the GP yesterday and she said: "you have an egg, cervical mucus is fine, everything is fine with your partner, so in principle it should work." If it doesn't work this month, I really won't understand it anymore.. :-/

    Hey debbz,
I finally got my period and am now starting round 3 with Clomid. I should have my egg this week, so I’m curious to see when it happens, but I haven’t been too intense about it. Honestly, I don’t feel super motivated this month.
How are you doing? I’m curious!

    Love, Kelsey

    Hey Kelsii65,
Last Tuesday, on day 40, I got my period.. I already knew it was going to happen because I had taken a pregnancy test, but it was negative..

Went to the gynecologist yesterday and now I have to start with IUI this month.. It's a bit of a mixed feeling.. trying something different again.. but I really wished it had happened naturally.. Still though.. with IUI there's still only a 10% chance of success..

    Greetings,
    Debbz.

    hey debbz,
pffffff what a bummer that you got your period have you started your period yet? I totally get that you wanted to get pregnant naturally, but well, the chance is 15%, so you're 5% worse off. You have to try to stay positive and think that you're in that 10% success group. I'll be rooting for you! That you're in that success group!
I didn't get pregnant either and didn't feel much like it last month myself. I only had sex like 3 times or so, just on the days when I felt like it. So I have no idea at all when my ovulation is, but I expect it this coming week. Since I do know which cycle day I'm on and today is cycle day 30.
Since the first round of Clomid I had a cycle of 29 days, the second round was 30 days, so maybe this third round will be 31 days, that it shifts by 1 day each month or something, or it's pure coincidence. But I've decided to wait until Friday, then it will be cycle day 34. If I don't get spotting or symptoms in the afternoon of that day, I'll do a test, and if it's negative, I'll call my gynecologist because then Clomid isn't working anymore... and I'll just have my old cycle again. It's just weird that I've been trying for almost 2 years and this is the first month where I don't have any symptoms at all, not even a feeling that my period is coming. Normally I feel that like 4 days before my period starts, so this does worry me a bit.

But anyway, I'll keep you posted, and you keep me posted on how things are going for you.
    Love, Kel

    Hey Kelsii,

I had my first IUI on Saturday, June 17th. If I haven't gotten my period by Monday, July 3rd, I'll need to get a blood test for pregnancy. But since my cycle takes longer, partly thanks to Utrogestan, I'm waiting a bit longer. Getting blood drawn costs a bit more, and then maybe I'm not pregnant anyway...

It's weird that you don't have any symptoms yet. Maybe it's a good sign? Hopefully...

    X,
    Debbz.

okee I'm curious, I hope it's positive for you right away. That would be the best, I think.
Yes, I've started getting period symptoms since today, so normally my temp drops to 36.8 right away, but now it's been 37.4 all day. Usually, when I get my period, it drops about 2 days before. Two days before my period, it's 37.0, and the day before, it's 36.8, and on the day of my period, I know I'm getting it. But I just know it's not happening. I'm really waiting for my period, and it's so frustrating that I don't know when it's going to start. But well, since today, my breasts have been hurting, and I've been feeling sharp pains in my side, so I expect my period on Thursday I'll keep you updated. I really hope you're pregnant; that would be awesome, and it's definitely deserved.

    Greetings, Kel

Stupid, huh.. waiting every time.. :-/
I hope it works out the first time too.. but honestly, I don't see it that positively.. :-P I'll keep you posted!

Yeah, I find waiting absolutely terrible, and since it’s already been almost 2 years in October, but well, they say it’s worth it. Still no period for me; I’m just waiting for the devil to come, so to speak. I do have lower back and abdominal pain, and stupidly enough, I don’t even know when my egg was released—so frustrating. The test was positive, but well, after all these setbacks, I just don’t dare to hope anymore.

    I’ll be rooting for you.

    See you soon,

    x Kels
