    Yes,
Neukermans is also quite common in Belgium.

I work in childcare myself and you really come across the weirdest names like Vegas, Ploon, Bloem, Bikkel, Spijker, Enzo, Robijn, Pip and the name Vlinder, Isa Hoes's child. I don't have such a great last name myself, De Pijper, so yeah, you never really have a say in it.

That's also what my cousin is called, and indeed, you do get that reaction a lot at first, but I'm hearing the name more and more often now.

The boys' names we had in mind for our baby had the initials J.B., and since there's so much negativity being said about Justin Bieber among young people these days, we decided to change the name...

Names that could lead to your child being bullied are definitely a no-go...

Or names that are hard to pronounce or spell for the child (or others).

That's so sad for that gynecologist.

I know someone whose name was Albert Nus, and on all his letters it said A. Nus.

I just read in the newspaper that someone named their child Qut. That's not normal, is it!

Gold I find absolutely terrible, who does that to their child? That’s what I thought when I heard it. And honestly, I don’t think butterfly works either; it is and remains a butterfly, not a name. Baby girl and sister, how do you come up with that?

Poor kids, and sorry, I really find these names ridiculous. I don’t like names that are named after insects or things anyway.

Sister and baby girl are not names.

But yes, respect to everyone who does like them. Everyone can decide that themselves, of course, and you can’t argue about taste. But personally, I find such names terrible.

    Greetings, Madelene

I had a boy in my class who was called Flip de Geest... I thought that was kind of sad... "De Geest" is already a name that can be used for bullying, and then he was also called Flip!

I knew someone who called her Celie, with a C pronounced as S. And his parents gave him the first name Peter.

Until I started reading this thread, the name Splinter was the worst thing I'd ever heard, haha.
Anyway, last week I woke up from a dream and suddenly realized that the initials we had come up with would spell KFC, so luckily we're not going to do that anymore!
