Essy
Hi everyone, I'm new here and hope you can help me.
I started bleeding a week early. Normally, my cycle is always spot on every 3 weeks. Also, the bleeding is very light.
I looked it up on Google and saw things about implantation bleeding. I was really scared because my boyfriend is almost sterile. The doctors told me the chance of me getting pregnant spontaneously is less than 5%. That's why we don't use contraception.
When could I take a test?
On one hand, I think; of course, I'm not pregnant. I just have to wait and see. But on the other hand; this doesn't feel right at all, and if it is, I need to know as soon as possible. I haven't taken any folic acid or anything like that.
I hope you can help. I'm not sure what to do.

    Hi,
It could indeed be implantation bleeding.. how much blood are you having and for how many days? Or has it already stopped? Normally it's usually not too much and not longer than three days. But every body is different so don't fixate on it.

Normally you get your period every three weeks? That's quite a short cycle then.

I think it's best to wait for your period and then take a pregnancy test. How special would it be if it did work out after all! And it's no disaster that you haven't taken vitamins yet, but you should start living as healthily as possible now and take vitamins just to be sure, especially if it turns out you really are pregnant.
Do you have any other symptoms?

Thanks for your reply. I’m just 3 weeks late for my period, which is usually normal for me.

I lost a tiny bit of pinkish blood 2 days ago, yesterday it was old blood, and this morning early on wiping I had a little more, but nothing else since.

Saturday is when I’m officially due for my period—can I test then?

It would indeed be very special. I also have no idea how my partner will react... it’s all quite nerve-wracking.

Oh, and I don't have many other symptoms. My breasts are a bit sore, but that's also what I get when I'm on my period...

Yeah, I’d try it on Saturday. Hope it works out for you guys! At least, I’m assuming it’s welcome?

Definitely welcome! It's quite a big shift if it turns out to be like that. But it's a dream I never dared to dream for myself.

Exciting! Have you tested it yet?
  7. Essy started this #8

No, I haven't taken a test yet. I'm going to test tomorrow. I find it super exciting too. I've started taking vitamins now, just in case.
    It can't hurt anyway.
I'll just buy a test today.
Does the brand make a difference? I took a quick look around the forum and saw all sorts of different ones mentioned.

I always use the ones from Action—they’re nice and cheap and work fine! But the one from Kruidvat is two for five euros and a bit more sensitive, so I’d go for that one in your case.

But isn't it possible that you might be pregnant by someone else?
  10. Essy started this #11

@nannie thank you so much. I'll head to Kruidvat right away.
@Milo no, definitely not. I've only had sex with my man.
  11. Milo Guest #12

Yeah, you never know with these modern women! My ex is pregnant by someone, but she doesn't know who.
  12. Nannie ❤ #13

    Are you a man, Milo?
  13. Milo Guest #14

Yeah, Nannie, why do you ask?
  14. Nannie ❤ #15

Because it's not very common for men to join in the conversation here.
  15. Essy started this #16

Oh, that's definitely not a nice situation. But not all women are like that.
  16. Lisa #17

@essy taking vitamins can't do any harm.. it's only good for you! And I'd try the Kruidvat test.. it's the most sensitive!
  17. Essy started this #18

I bought the Kruidvat test. I'm really nervous for tomorrow morning. My boyfriend is abroad for work, and I want to wait until I'm sure before telling him.
  18. Lisa #19

Yeah, I get that. It's exciting, especially since your partner isn't there! Just a little more waiting... tomorrow you'll know

thanks, I'll let you know tomorrow.
