Yeah, I'd definitely ask the neighbors or something... I wouldn't carry it!! If the dogs see something and get startled, they might just pull you upside down!

Oh, in that case, because you said they're already a bit older..
No, I get it.. maybe (if you can't find anyone) you could always hire a dog walker for the evenings??

I wouldn't leave your little one alone, okay. Just like you said, something could happen. It wouldn't be a quiet walk for you and the dogs, I think.
    If possible, call for help.

    Do you have a garden?

I also have 2 dogs and they have to make do with fewer walks now. We do have a big garden where they can go outside and where I can still play nicely with them.

    Good luck!

When my daughter was just born and turned out to be a real sleeper, I’d leave her outside for a bit in the morning to pee (there was a little patch of grass there). I’d take the baby monitor along just in case.
If she woke up, I’d go for a nice long walk. In the evenings I’d sometimes leave her lying down, but I’d only be at most 10 minutes away from our house, and I’d hear my daughter cry if something was wrong. Our dog was already old and didn’t need to go far anyway...

On the one hand, I’d never leave my baby lying alone in bed for long, but on the other hand, people used to do it a lot back in the day, and if it’s just for a few minutes, it probably won’t do any harm.
Do what feels right for you!

    Good luck!

Hi! It's nice that you're responding! And thanks for that!
Thanks everyone for the tips. Unfortunately, I only have a small garden of about 2x2 meters, so that's no good for the dogs. My dogs never run around (they sometimes act like old folks), so a carrier might work. Unfortunately, I don't have anyone nearby I trust or know. And I'm not just going to hand my dogs over to someone. I did find a 14-year-old girl who walks with us sometimes and could walk the dogs later on; she can't have her own dog, so it's a good solution for both of us. Just not for the evenings, of course.

    Hi ST,

Sorry about the little garden. It might still work for a quick pee though.
I get that you don't want to let your dogs go with other strangers. I wouldn't either. But it's great that you have that girl! Maybe she can take care of the dogs regularly during those first months, so you can stay with your baby or the baby doesn't have to come along when it's still so little. In the evenings, like Lexy said, you could maybe limit it to max 10 minutes in the street or something, close to your house with the baby monitor. Maybe test beforehand how far they can go. And when the baby is a few months old, maybe it can come along in the carrier - if the dogs are very calm. My dogs pull too much, especially when they see a cat, duck, cow or another dog. I wouldn't do it with my dogs myself, but you know your dogs best to know if it works or not.

    Good luck, girl!

I’d try to come up with something for the evening, like a nice walk before the little one goes to sleep, and then maybe just a very short round or out into the street to let the dogs out around 11 pm. It doesn’t seem feasible to take a baby out at 11 pm when they’re going to bed nicely around 7 or 7:30 (once they’re a few months old). At first, you can obviously just bring your baby along since they don’t have a set sleep schedule yet and are often awake or fussy in the evening, but once they fall into a rhythm, I wouldn’t take them out just to let the dogs out.
    It’s tricky though!

    Nice that you're responding again
During the day they go to the dog walker from 10 am to 1 pm until I can do it myself. I've already made arrangements with the girl that she'll take care of the dogs after school for the first few weeks/months and then go for a long walk (she'll get something for it, of course) of about 1 hour. Then the oldies are very tired and will sleep for at least 3/4 hours. Say until 7/8 pm, then they'll have to do it with the little field in front of our house for the first few weeks; they can just run around loose there 2 or 3 times in the evening. Hopefully it'll work out like this, and if not, we'll try to find someone else nearby. Thanks for the tips!
    Greetings, S
