I don't feel attractive anymore.

Hey Sietske,
I'm dealing with the same issue—I've also been feeling less sexy for a while now.
I have acne all over my body (especially between my breasts), pff, really not attractive.
My clothes don't fit me anymore either, but I don't mind that as much... (although)
I also don't like that my boyfriend has lost interest in sex. It can sometimes last 2 or 3 weeks! He probably had too much sex when I wasn't pregnant yet...
So Sietske, YOU'RE NOT ALONE !!!

    @Fatje and Sietske,

    So relatable, ladies.....

    hey ladies.
hormones are really doing crazy things to your body right now. some people look super radiant, others not at all. I myself have a really oily face and hair, and even above my chest there are tiny pimples pffff. but yeah, it's all part of it. I do use a face mask once a week to get rid of the oil on my face. Unfortunately, it's back the next day.
also my clothes, mainly the pants, I couldn't fit into my tops anymore, luckily the skirts still fit. but go shopping a bit at Esprit or Mexx, they have super cute maternity clothes, nice dresses and stuff. you can still feel really sexy with the right clothes
    greetings, Liena

    @Liena,

It's almost time, right Liena? Your baby is on the way, and a whole new phase is about to begin. Let me know how it all goes for you. Good luck with your delivery...

    Love, Ju

    Hey girls,

I can totally understand why you don't feel so attractive anymore.
I don't have issues with pimples or greasy hair, but I already had cellulite and my waist got a bit rounder.
I had some trouble with that in the first few weeks, but I'm lucky to have a boyfriend who thinks I'm incredibly beautiful, even now that I'm pregnant.

I also stood in front of the mirror and talked to myself: everything that changes, whether it's beautiful or less so, is for a good cause, so I'll just go with it!

I did, for example, buy a super sexy bright red nightie last week. I felt really beautiful in it and it was appreciated hehe.

So relatable! I feel incredibly chubby, even though hubby thinks my bigger head looks even prettier. Everyone around me says the same thing—that I look much healthier—but I feel like I just washed up on shore...
But despite that, I’ve bought lots of cute maternity clothes to make it a bit more fun...
And hey, there’s a little princess growing inside me, so that’s why I’m doing it!

Good luck, ladies—it’ll all be fine again!

I'd say: treat yourself to some pampering!!! Hairdresser, steam bath, massage, facial.. I'll definitely do that once I feel like I really need it. (nice to do with just the two of you) You'll feel much better right away.

And as for clothes, if you feel you need them, get those clothes! That's what they're for!! And as Dani says, your husband is also doing a lot for you!! I really think it's important that you can talk about it together.. You're not fat, you're pregnant!! I hate those visible veins!! I have them all over my body now!

@ Liena: do you also use a toner? I do it every morning, it's so refreshing and it really helps!!

I don't feel particularly sexy either...
I feel pregnant, proud, special, beautiful, happy, unique, strong...
    And it feels so good!
I'm now 33 weeks, so just a few more weeks and this beautiful and special time will unfortunately be over. I'm trying to enjoy it as much as possible, being very mindful of it.
That slim waist and high heels will come back though.

    Love, Wen.

    Same here, you're not alone!

Thankfully, I didn’t have that during my pregnancy—I felt really happy with my appearance (especially since I had an excuse for those big cheeks ). But the postpartum period was a bit tougher for me. The first few months, you’re just focused on your baby, but once things get a bit easier, you realize you still have a post-pregnancy belly . Oh well...

Anyway: Enjoy your changing body and your pregnancy—it’s all part of the process. As long as you take good care of yourself, your body will feel like yours again even faster after the birth. Have a wonderful pregnancy!
  10. Olivia-Anna #11

Yes Iza, I'm a little scared of that too.

Right now I feel super good!! I went out for dinner recently in a sleek black dress..
But I do have a bit of fear for after the birth, once those first pink weeks are over..
Especially when I see one of them looking great again after a few weeks, while the other one still hasn't lost those extra kilos after years..
I guess we just have to let things take their course.

But it wouldn't surpass the wonderful feeling I have right now!!
  11. Iza #12

Indeed, Olivia-Anna, I have to tell you that I do see it in the mirror but I'm not stressing about it anymore. You've got other priorities now, although I've started paying better attention to what I eat and exercising more! Enjoy your pregnancies!!

    Oohh so relatable!!
I still have stretch marks on my belly from my last pregnancy, my head is full of acne (thankfully it's getting better now), and my clothes just won't fit the way I want them to!!

I think most pregnant women experience this, even though their surroundings think they look beautiful... With my last pregnancy, I had a few colleagues who kept saying how incredibly beautiful I looked pregnant... While I only saw a walrus in the mirror hahaha

But when I look at my little girl, I think: It was worth it twice over! (And thankfully my husband still thinks I'm beautiful )
  13. Dani #14

I'm also finding it a bit harder to deal with the extra weight now.
I feel enormous... but my partner keeps telling me how beautiful and feminine I look.
I really just wanted a little belly, but my thighs are just getting nicely round.
This time, I really want to lose the baby weight a bit faster after giving birth (in a healthy way, of course). Last time, people were asking after 3 months when my due date was... wasn't very nice, haha.

It's so weird, some days my hair looks much frizzier than others. Normally I have quite a bit of wave in my hair, but sometimes that disappears.
My skin actually looks pretty good, very calm, whereas before pregnancy it was much more restless.

Oh well, all for a good cause, right!!!

    Hi Sietske,
In the beginning of my pregnancy (up to about 3 months), I also had a lot of breakouts on my face, neck, and even my back.

After that, it gradually started to decrease; I used a good cleanser daily and a mild scrub every 2 days.

Now (I'm 5 months along), I no longer have any breakouts and my skin looks much better again. I think it's just due to the hormones.

As for the rest: I'm really happy with my belly; I haven't really gained weight in other areas yet, so that's quite nice.
    But maybe that'll come later.

I'd definitely treat myself to some pampering: go to the hairdresser, get a facial from a beautician (they can give a good facial treatment), buy a nice dress, etc.

Try to enjoy it! Those months fly by, I think!
  15. brenda92 #16

I think if you indeed buy nice maternity clothes, you can enjoy your pregnancy again. They really have some nice ones nowadays. What I personally find beautiful is a kind of tunic/poncho with batwing sleeves. Then your belly looks really nice, I think. And maybe you should wear nice lingerie; that way I always feel attractive. Or at least if it all matches nicely. And not a nursing bra and underwear from Action. Also try to take good care of your skin with products. If you have a nice lotion or oil on and smell good, that also gives you confidence, believe me!
I hope this helps you a bit.

I’ve got it a bit too. Not really a bump yet since I don’t really have one, but more because of all the bumps/pimples on my face and neck (yep, even up to my breasts) and on my shoulder blades. Sometimes there are some really big ones

With the kilotjes that will come later, I think I’ll have some trouble too... My boyfriend doesn’t mind at all, he says that (strangely enough) he finds me even more attractive now that I’m pregnant. But I think it’s just the idea, I don’t know how he’ll feel when I have a bump later haha. It’s our first one so everything is new for us too....

But I think shopping a bit, getting nice/pretty maternity clothes can really make a difference. I think you’ll feel nice and fresh again, just like when you normally buy new clothes, at least that’s how I’ve always felt, haha.

It was the same here. I tried all sorts of nice clothes, hairdresser, baths, etc., but it only helped for a little while, and then the harsh reality hit - you're pregnant and big. My husband also lost interest in bedroom fun, which didn't help either. Funny enough, it wasn't my appearance but just the thought that there's a baby in my belly. After giving birth, everything got better pretty quickly... The baby is out and I'm losing my extra pounds pretty quickly... After a few weeks, I can wear my old pants again, and that helps a lot

    I’m also feeling absolutely terrible
I’m currently 30 weeks pregnant. And I’m really slim. The baby, on the other hand, is growing fast, so there’s nothing wrong with that. I’m just naturally slim like my husband, and I live healthily but I do eat sweets.
I’m slimmer than before my pregnancy, except for my belly..
But my arms, legs, and waist are actually tighter and smaller than before, so I’m really happy with that. Plus, I have a really beautiful belly from the front, which I’m truly proud of (not to brag, but I think I don’t look bad for being pregnant; I used to always be afraid that once I got pregnant I’d get very fat, and I’m definitely not, so I can be proud of myself. I’ve only gained 5 kilos so far).
However, my hair color isn’t looking good anymore, and I’m experiencing a lot of hair loss.
I also went to the hairdresser, and that day my husband was very enthusiastic about my look.
But just a few days later, not anymore. He just finds me absolutely unattractive.
Plus, he likes looking at other women on that terrible computer, ggrr (he doesn’t do anything, just looks). But that makes me feel rejected. Sometimes he can be very blunt and say something he doesn’t like about me (for example: my hair, or my belly, or my walk, or my face which has unfortunately gotten fatter according to him, or my white skin tone (now that I never get sun anymore) and my breasts have grown quite a bit but in his opinion are still way too small; he always talks about breast augmentation. Or yesterday he started saying my nose is quite big, well, that’s not really that big..
Oh, and I had a small fungal infection for a week, and he’s still pestering me about it Even though I’m very hygienic, it’s just such a stupid ailment

But well, I know for sure... my husband currently finds me unattractive, and I’m very sad about that, which is an understatement. I could cry every day, but he finds that annoying too, so I’m trying not to do that anymore. I’m now trying to act angry and indifferent, if I can manage that at all I’m already so extremely sensitive.

I really want time to go faster.. so that once I’ve given birth, I can prove to him that I am beautiful and can be a sexy woman and mom. And I hope he’ll desire me again and won’t look at other women anymore, but that I’ll be so irresistible in his eyes that other feminine beauty won’t even register with him.
Who recognizes this? And will it get better?
  19. Cin #20

Oh my god, I don't know what I'm reading up there... That's just terrible that your husband thinks and says such things about you...

Your body changes enormously during pregnancy, you know... pff... And as you describe yourself, you're quite pregnant and not fat or anything, it's awful.

Especially when I also read about your nose, your walk, etc. I have no words...

Girl, just stay true to yourself! He must have chosen for a baby, so he should know you'll get bigger, etc.

It'll be fine, really! Definitely... I understand this isn't fun for you... But does he even look like a photo model himself? ;-)

I'm now pregnant with my 3rd. I gained 16 kilos with my first, 18 kilos with the second, and now I'm almost 36 weeks pregnant with the third and have gained 15 kilos... After the previous two, I was back to my 58 kilos pretty quickly... without having to do anything... So girl, try to enjoy your pregnancy...

    It'll definitely work out!!!
