18 and desire for children

Hi everyone,
I'm an 18-year-old girl and my boyfriend is 20. We both really want kids. My boyfriend is now starting a permanent 30-hour contract, which means he'll earn around €1200 a month. I work two days a week, so that's €200 a month. We've figured out that we can actually afford a child, but we're both worried about whether other people at home might have issues with it. So we looked into how housing benefit works. If we have a child, we'd get €320 a month in housing benefit if our rent is max €710 (which is totally doable!). We'd also get child benefit (€64) and the child-related budget of €86. This seems manageable. Having a baby and then moving out right away. Would love to hear your opinions on this!!

I'm a young mom myself, 20. But... what I'd recommend is to find a place to live first before having kids Finding a house isn't always easy, speaking from experience, but maybe it's easier in your area?

You think it's financially doable then? And yes, it's much easier here!!

If you're really sure you want this, because a baby costs a lot of money but also a lot of attention! Money isn't even the most important part.. you have to consider that you'll both be tight on cash, with sleepless nights, and can your relationship handle that? And your home needs to be filled up too.. so I'd say first get the house, then fill it up and see how things go month by month.. what's left over each month and then go for a baby

because there's a lot more to it..
    -rent
    -service costs
    -gas, water and electricity
-municipal tax and water board tax
    -groceries
-security deposit for the rental apartment
    -furniture
    -TV/phone
    -health insurance
-do you have a car? -car insurance -gasoline

and then there are the costs for a baby to add...

    good luck!

Yeah, I normally agree with that too, but we have the problem that you only get housing benefit from age 23, so we can't live together otherwise. As I already mentioned, we get an extra 400-500 euros if we have a baby, which is what we want. Then it becomes doable for us to move out together. We also know that we'd be taken care of at home if moving out doesn't work out. By the way, our relationship can definitely handle it, and we've already talked a lot about the consequences.

So you've actually already made a decision! I think love for a baby is the most important thing.

Thank you for your response. The decision has indeed already been made a bit. But it's still nice to have an outside opinion to consider. By the way, how long did your unpeeling process take?

I'm not a teenager anymore (I'm 23), but my partner and I also want to have a baby. We haven't been trying for very long yet, but hopefully, I'll have a positive test in my hands soon. Anyway, how have things been going for you and your baby wish lately?
