Boiling water for use?

Yvonne
Hi fellow moms,
Since I don't have enough breast milk for my girl, I'm giving her formula as well.
How do you prepare the bottle? We currently use boiled water and add the powder, but it takes too long to cool down for a hungry baby I recently read that tap water in the Netherlands is so good that it doesn't need to be boiled. Does anyone know more about this? How do you handle it?

If I’m not mistaken, it says on the package that you can just use tap water and warm it up in the microwave. That’s how I always did it too.

When I had my first little girl 2 years ago, you were already allowed to use tap water. You don't need to boil it beforehand anymore.

We use tap water. And heat it up in the microwave, but you can also use already warm tap water.

Warm water from the tap can also be used unless you have a boiler in the kitchen, then it's not recommended.

We use f in the microwave
But tap water can also work

We used boiled water too, mostly because the water here is pretty hard...
So we decided to go with boiled water
But they say nowadays it's also fine to use tap water...
    Everyone's choice, really.
If we ever end up relying on formula again, we'll use boiled water again

No experience with kv, but my sister does the following.

Boiled water in a thermos and boiled water in another bottle to cool down. All in the morning and as soon as she needs to make a bottle, she mixes the water so it has the right temperature. Add the powder and you're ready. You can also take this water with you and then no hassle with heating up..

With the first one I also boiled and cooled, but this is easier..

Used warm birthing water for my daughter. And she's still alive Don't make it too complicated.

If I go out for a bit, I'll also bring a thermos and a bottle of cold water.
And mix it because in a café or restaurant you only get hot water.

And it's nice to have it with you.

We were pretty strict about it too with boiled water (the first few weeks), then we relaxed a bit What I often do now is fill up the kettle in the morning. You can get water from it all day long, it's already boiled and at some point it's not too hot anymore.

Cooling it down did take too long for me too. But you can put a bottle with water that's too hot in a bowl with cold water, then it cools down fairly quickly. Or hold it under the cold tap. Or use half hot water and half cold tap water...

What a hassle it can be sometimes

But seeing the other moms here, tap water seems perfectly fine and much easier! With baby #2 I'll use boiled water for the first few weeks too, but if there's a bit more resistance, I'll just use tap water.
