Hi there,

I'm 21 and due with my first baby in July.
I'd love to connect with other expectant moms, especially those around my age.

Cheers!

    Hi Michelle!

Congrats on your pregnancy! My due date is June 20th for my first baby, a girl, and I'm due in April 21!

By the way, I'm from Eindhoven, but I live in Roosendaal now!

How's your pregnancy going? Do you know what it'll be?

    Love

    Hi Boterbloempje16,

First of all, congratulations on your pregnancy!
    We're expecting a boy on July 19th.

My pregnancy is going well, despite the heartburn starting to kick in now.
I can feel the little one clearly already, lots of movement, especially when I'm trying to sleep, haha.
    How is your pregnancy going?

I'm from Vught and currently live in Helvoirt.

    Love

Thank you! How lovely, a boy! Have you and your partner decided on a name yet?

Everything's good here too! At first I was really sick and nauseous, but now it's just back pain and having to pee all the time, especially at night, so I don't sleep very well. But otherwise, I can't complain. It's a very active little lady here; I feel her all day long, and you can see and feel it from the outside too. My partner thinks it's absolutely amazing, haha.

And everything with the little one is good so far? 20-week scan, etc.?

We were already in agreement about the name right away.
We had about 20 possible names for a girl, but for a boy, we had one. So luckily, that choice wasn't very difficult.
Have you guys figured out what your girl is going to be called yet?

I pee myself silly too, especially at night indeed.. my boyfriend feels the baby a lot too, he finds it getting used to it and exciting, but so lovely. We can't wait.

We initially had a bad result for the combined test 1:100.. , but then we had a NIPT test and it showed that our baby didn't have Down syndrome. So those were a few exciting weeks.
The 20-week ultrasound was completely fine, everything is there and accounted for! Is it with you too?

Are you also working on the baby room?
  5. boterbloempje16 #6

Yes, we already had a boy's name and a girl's name ready right away, so that was easy! Did you have a preference for the gender? I secretly hoped for a girl, hehe.

Yes, it's truly awful, isn't it? The midwife also said that the baby is really pressing on my bladder with its head. Are you guys also going to do a 3D ultrasound?

We really can't wait either, especially my partner. He can't wait fast enough. But we're already at 28 weeks, so it's coming along quickly!

Oh, that's quite a shock, but it's still good that Down syndrome has been ruled out. We also did the combined screening test, but thankfully the result was 1:5000, and they didn't go any further, so we were very happy with that. And indeed, everything was fine with us too, all clear!

Yes, we got the room on March 22nd, and it's all set now. I just haven't finished decorating yet, and I still need to wash and put away the clothes, as well as buy a few small things. And you guys?
  6. michelle started this #7

At first I really thought it was going to be a girl, so it was quite a shock when we heard it was a boy.
But we're really happy about it!

At the 20-week scan, the baby was already head-down, comfortably pushing on my bladder haha..
We're planning to get a 3D ultrasound done, what about you?

    How old is your friend?

Our baby stuff arrives on April 13th, can't wait to put everything together.
We still need to pick up some decoration items, but we'll do that once the room is ready.
  7. boterbloempje16 #8

Haha yes, nice to have such a little face on your bladder. We already had our 3D ultrasound, the photo is on my profile!

My boyfriend is 21, in May he'll be 22. And yours? By the way, my pregnancy wasn't planned, but we're super happy with it now, even though we were a bit shocked at first.

Yes, it's nice when the room is ready! I also love shopping for the little girl. It's getting close now though, only 11 weeks and a few days to go.. Unless she comes earlier of course haha.

I'm from 's-Hertogenbosch, my due date is May 25th. It's our second baby, a girl, and we already have a daughter. I was 25 when we had our first daughter, and I was 23 back then.

I'll be induced around May 14th.

Exciting, your first baby, and nice to have all those cute baby stuff to buy.

    Hi buttercup16,

My boyfriend is turning 26 in 2 weeks.
Our pregnancy was planned, although a lot of people didn't expect it from us, haha.
I feel like time is going by so fast, I'm already 24 weeks pregnant today.. in 10 weeks I can start enjoying my maternity leave.. can't wait!

Hi Nancy, congratulations on your pregnancy!
  10. boterbloempje16 #11

I feel like time is moving so slowly right now.. Tomorrow I'll be 29 weeks. Did it happen quickly for you guys?

Congratulations, Nancy! Why are you being induced?
  11. michelle started this #12

I'm at 25 weeks tomorrow. I can really feel that work is going to get pretty tough (I work in healthcare).
I'm so looking forward to starting my leave in 9 weeks!
    Do you work too? Boterbloempje16?

For us, it happened just two months after we stopped the pill—faster than we'd expected.
We had hoped to be pregnant by the time our new house was ready... but sadly, that won't happen until late 2017.

    Hi!

I live in Vught and I'm (almost) 21 weeks pregnant with our second daughter. Our first girl, Saar, is 15 months old.

Can I join in and chat along?

I was already peeking at your photo, Michelle, since you're also from Vught, but I don't recognize you haha. By the way, I'm 23 years old

    Hi crumbs!
Welcome to the club and congratulations on your pregnancy!

I only lived in Vught for 4 years too, which is why most people who live in Vught don't know me.. but it's nice that there are still young moms living nearby, haha!

I was admitted because I have chronic high blood pressure and take medication for it. I have a higher risk of pre-eclampsia.

I got pregnant 28 days after stopping the pill for my first daughter, and 3 months for the second.

I work 27 hours a week and still have to work until April 22. I'm a vet assistant, so I'm on my feet and walking all day. I'm starting to notice it's getting heavier (I'm 32+2 weeks).
  15. kruimel #16

Ooh haha that must be it, Michelle. I lived in Vught for almost my entire life (except for 2 years), so I do recognize a lot of faces from 'our' age

You all got pregnant so quickly, that's nice.
I found out at 20 that my fertility was severely reduced. So I immediately dropped my HBO studies to dive into the medical world to get pregnant. A bit more than 1.5 years later, I was pregnant, just before my 22nd birthday.
For number 2, we went back to the hospital on time, but this time it was a hit on the first try. So, two girls with an age difference of 20 months!

    Hi Nancy,
Were you induced with your first baby too?
I'm just 25 weeks and already feel terrible after working a day.. I'm curious how it'll be when I'm around 30 weeks.. I'm going on leave at 34 weeks.. if I manage that, which I of course hope I will!

    Hi Crumb,
That must have been quite a shock to hear that at 20, I think?! Glad you could start the medical process right away.. then a year and a half seems incredibly long to me.
Was it a conscious choice to become a mother early? Or did you make that choice when you found out you had reduced fertility?

    How old are your guys/friend?
  17. kruimel #18

It was definitely a conscious choice, though I didn’t expect it to happen so quickly.
I had cycle issues while on the pill, thought I was pregnant, and that’s how we ended up at the gynecologist. My boyfriend and I had been together for only half a year, and he’s 10 years older than me. We were both so disappointed that I wasn’t pregnant that we decided to try for a baby right away, thinking it might take a while. I was already doubting my studies anyway, so that decision wasn’t hard—it was only just starting.

I’ve never regretted starting our family so early; I love being a young mom!

Have you and your boyfriend been together for a long time?
  18. michelle started this #19

My boyfriend and I could've been together for 3 years already... but we always misunderstood each other because he was working back then and spent a lot of time on his PlayStation.. and I was still in school, in my final year of training.
Now we've been fully together since last May and consciously chose to have a baby. We live together in Helvoirt now and are waiting for our house to be built.
    My boyfriend is 26.

I've always said I wanted to be an early mom. I have no regrets about the pregnancy! Absolutely not.
Although we do get some weird reactions from our surroundings, like saying we're too young etc.
  19. boterbloempje16 #20

No, I'm still studying Michelle! At the university in Nijmegen.

Wow, that was quick for you, Michelle. Even though it wasn't planned for us, we're actually getting really nice reactions from people around us. My boyfriend was already more 'ready for it' and super enthusiastic right away; it took me a bit longer. His sister is also pregnant with her first baby and is three weeks further along than I am, so I'm lucky I'm not alone in this, and everyone is super happy about it!

Hi crumbs, welcome and congratulations on your pregnancy! How is everything going so far? It's intense to hear that so early, but enjoy the fact that you'll have two girls soon, even if it took a bit longer!

You too, quick catch, Nancy! That's annoying with your high blood pressure. I actually have very low blood pressure. Last time at the midwife it was 85 over 50. I also fainted once in the middle of the city during my pregnancy. inch:

Here I'm just very tired and sleeping badly. I also have to go to the toilet almost every hour at night, it's driving me crazy.
