chickenpox via someone else?

Hi hi,

My boyfriend just went to a bachelor party, but one of his friends has chickenpox. He had chickenpox himself, but I don't know if I have it (I got tested at the doctor yesterday). The results will take at least another week. So I'm worried about whether I could get infected through my boyfriend, e.g., if he has the virus on his skin or in his lungs.

What do you think?

After having had chickenpox, the virus stays in the body. If it becomes active again later, for example if your friend comes into contact with someone who is infected, it can cause shingles, though this doesn't necessarily have to happen. The risk is just there. So your friend isn't completely out of danger either.

The virus enters the body through the mucous membranes of the nose and throat and then gets into the bloodstream. Through coughing, talking, etc., it gets into the air and infects someone. But chickenpox is already contagious before symptoms appear so it's a bit tricky

But are you pregnant now or not? I hope that since you yourself weren't around that friend, nothing happened. Because since the virus is in the bloodstream, it can also be passed on to the unborn child via the placenta, and you really don't want that
